I don’t know....I thought he was pretty good up until about the Porter fight....but landing 7 punches a round consistently now is trash.

8 rounds to 4 or so for Santiago wouldn't you guys say?

Plus a point deduction so that'd make it 115-112. I don't really see how you could give this fight to Broner, but I wouldn't be shocked if they steal it for him anyway. Let's see.

Not too shocked by that. He didn't deserve it at all, but the TV networks love the guy. Not the first time Broner has gotten a decision he didn't deserve. Might be the last though.

I had it 114-113 for Santiago but I think he didn't do enough to win it at least convincingly..

This was another John John Molina-Oscar De La Hoya when I had Molina up by one, 114-113 IIRC but he did not do enough to beat the name fighter convincingly, therefore the judges gave it to the superstar, by wide margins IIRC too!

The scores were outlandish, through...in due honesty, I think it is another one of those "could have gone either way" bout..at best my countryman won, at worst, it could have gone either way.

This was always intended to be what it now is. Get Broner a win on TV so that you can sell him as an opponent for a comebacking Keith Thurman or Danny Garcia or whatever, and of course he'll lose convincingly against anyone like that.

I'm hoping for an Easter vs Broner fight in Cincinnati or Toledo.
At this point I think Easter could win.

Gilgamesh is probably right about Broner being lined up as an opponent for Thurman or Garcia but it would be nice if they aren't interested in the Broner clown show.
Easter vs Broner would sell here in Ohio.

i think easter and broner pull the friends card when it comes to them fighting

and possibly for the best, 2 guys who do more fiddling around then fighting in recent performances.

I'm not sure Easter vs Broner would be all that interesting to anybody anywhere.

Mma has the same judges, better fights is what has fans more on mma. I never considered watching this.

Maybe.
Easter already filled the Huntington Center to the roof(a little over 9000) once for a fight with the legendary Luis Cruz.
Toledoans aren't used to top level........um..........anything.
When something close comes along they sell.
Cincinnati has bigger arenas down there so Easter vs Broner might not fill them but I think it could fill the Huntington Center in Toledo.

You could just about count Broner's punches on your fingers each round.

Oh gawd. A one punch per round posturing charade.
No way do I want to see that. I was quite bored during this fight.

Usually there's the argument of subjectivity when judges are criticised, but if this was appealed, what can the commission say about the assessment of that round without completely rewriting the objectives of boxing.
