I mean you don’t always have to take being a fight fan so seriously. But yes this league is mostly post-prime MMA & boxing dudes too old to compete in their sports anymore. A few young guys but not many. It a new league.

Most important thing - it’s fun.

Chock up Britain Hart’s post-fight interview as one of the all time greats.

Paige Van Zant loses her BKFC Debut to Britain Hart.

49-46 on all cards.

I had it the same.

No controversial scoring anywhere on this card. That's refreshing to see.

Yeah I don't think even hardcore fans of this would say these people are the most talented Boxers in the world or nothing like that, but it's definitely a bloodier, more violent, more action packed form of the sport, and yes it tends to get little sloppy and wild, but it's definitely not boring.

No controversial scoring anywhere on the card.

I'd be interested to see how a highly skilled Boxer would adjust to this type of contest. Logic tells you they'd win easily, but I'm not 100% sure they would. It's definitely a different type of fight.

I think in this type of Boxing it would be wise to work on Parrying a lot on the defensive end. I think Parrying would work out a lot better than Blocking would or does in this environment.

Charisa Sigala vs. Taylor Starling is the bloody brawl that opened the card up. A fun way to kick off the PPV.

That's pretty cool. Not sure how smart the investment is as I could easily see someone trying to shut it down, but I hope it can stick around for a while.

Depending on your definition of highly skilled, old Pauli M. tried his hand at it and lost a close decision.

Yeah a slick boxer-mover type doesn't really fit the BKFC model. The judges and the promotion itself tends to favor aggression. That being said I watched Paulie's fight in it, and I thought he won, but the judges didn't see it that way.

If BKFC continues to grow this is where McGregor should finish his career. He’d easily sell over 1m buys at $80 for people to watch him fight literally anyone in this.

Just want to throw a couple things in here, and then I’m leaving it alone until BKFC 16.

1. My BKFC crew neck sweatshirt did not disappoint. Very comfortable and love it.

2. For the extremely fair price of $40.00 and some change you can purchase the entire archive of BKFC and have access to every event this year on the BKFC. Highly recommend jumping in at this price point. Enjoy.

Until next time... to the line, boys.

I don't understand why PVZ keeps on trying to convince herself and us that she is a fighter. She sucks at everything related to fighting. Her boxing makes Ronda Rousey look like Joe Louis FFS.

This was the first time I had seen her fight at all. She definitely wasn't particularly impressive in BKFC. She closed the fight strong though. Winning the last round.

BKFC needed a celeb fighter draw, and PVZ fit the Bill. I honestly don’t hate the concept of this league becoming the place that retired semi-good boxers/UFC fighters spend their late thirties and early forties. We’ll get some quality stuff outta that. Maybe even a few former champs will get on board once the money’s there. These guys are pushing their own app and platform pretty strongly. That’s a bold move. Might get the tech money flowing in enough to draw in the names a la DAZN.

i dont think having van zant get handled by some rando 1-2 chick in the main event of their big event is a great way to build their brand, there's no way that's making up what they pay out for it, if she really had much celeb value the ufc would still have her. its not like shes some super star like rousey was. the usual value of female fighters is you can pay them less but apparently they giving her millions lol

these arent business moves that are gonna take them far

I doubt the buy rates for any of these events are especially high anyway to be honest. They need whatever they can do to get eyes on the product. The more attention they get, the more money they'll have. The bigger fighters they can entice to try it.

That's the game for now.

Even as it is it's fun for what it is.

forking out multi millions for van zant to get dominated by 1-2 fighters just doesnt seem like a good route to money or a fan base tbh, more like to bankruptcy

they gotta pick a better golden goose if they want to go that route of getting someone with half a name and hyping them up to attract an audience

I figure the sport gets outlawed at some point in the not too distant future anyway to be honest. I mean hell Bareknuckle Boxing was illegal for the entire last century

It's a minor miracle that it's legal now in what most would consider to be a more pussified era of Human existence.

Shaq just invested. Maybe he’ll get in there? Be honest with yourselves, if old Mike Tyson did this you’d buy it.

Outlawed? Idk. The fact that they brought it back says a lot. While your comments on our shifting beliefs about combat sports are on-point, be mindful that in the midst of our current culture war the reverse effect is happening in some jurisdictions.

No way in hell Shaq would do this.
