Yep. The Helenius one in particular was a sickener.

Martin Murray was never quite world class, but for me he (should surely have) won a decision against the great Sergio Martinez in front of 50,000 Argies in a soccer stadium fight.

What a result that ~"was"
Only one fight tho' so it doesnae really count - I'll pick Glen Johnson.

Joel Casamayor. First three losses were against Acelino Freitas, Diego Corrales and Jose Luis Castillo, and all three could have gone the other way. Imagine how different his career could have been if he’d got the nod in all three?

But of course he isn’t a fighter of today, so you should probably ignore this.

Given he fights this weekend it's worth noting Katsunari Takayama:
Not seen his fight with Kam Motma (aka Songkram Porpaoin) but an MD (W) at home could likely have gone the other way
Very unlucky against Niida (SD - L)
Reportedly VERY unlucky against Mateo Handig on the road (SD - L) - again not seen this one
Lucky against Fahlan Jr (TD - W) - SHOULD have been a TKO loss as the cut came from a punch that the ref got wrong
Unlucky against Jose Argumedo (TD - L) felt he deserved the win here

2 where he's maybe been lucky and 3 where he's been unlucky, karma probably balances out for him though.

Badou Jack was one of the first that came to mind for me too. He's one of them guys who's seemingly always in a close, tough fight.

Yeah I hear that but loads of the rounds were scrappy as hell and could of gone either way.

Yeah, it was a close fight but I don’t remember any controversy over the result.

Brook’s win over Porter was only seen as close in the UK due to Jim Watt’s commentary. Towards the end of his time commentating he had this weird thing where he seemed to think the Brit had to dominate a round abroad for him to score it for him. He did it with Haye - Valuev too.

Scored both fights to Valuev & Porter when for me they were both 8-4, 9-3 type fights in Haye & Brook’s favour.

I’m pretty certain American commentary & pundits had Brook a clear winner & Porter himself has never claimed he won.

Yeah I mean I only watched it once when it was Live, but I had Brook winning at least 8 rounds to 4, and never thought it was the least bit in doubt.

brook defo won the porter fight, did far cleanier punching and landed more most rounds. porter's usual roughousing didnt work too well and he couldnt overpower brook

8-4 for me as well

First loss to Ramirez is considered a very bad decision.

Draw to Chavez is considered very bad, the front cover of the ring the next week called it a robbery, IIRC.

De La Hoya loss considered by many to be terrible decision.

Had one win overturned after failing a drug test. It’s his fault for taking cocaine but it’s not a performance enhancer, despite what some may think

Fought Trinidad after a 2 year lay off and came out with a totally different style that was never gonna work. Still did well and won a few rounds...
Gosh that took me back.
Nice post Jay :TU:
I've watched the De La Hoya fight a few times over the years, and a draw would have been kind. The loss to Chavez still grinds my gears. Atypical A side victory.

Was just looking through some of Lara’s results, really could of been anywhere from 28-6 to 34-0 (actualy is 28-3-3).

So question, if Lara had put in identical performances but gotten all wins and was 34-0 where would he be ok the p4p list???

kinda shows how fickle boxing fans are letting 3 people we often mock and dispise post fight determine the legacy of a fighter..

ya it's like ppl mocking chis for losses when he could easily have wins over whyte and parker (and got robbed vs helly)

yet he's just called loser to the stars, not good enough to win the big one, etc
