They used weight drained as an excuse. It isn’t weight he’s chinny. Straffon hit him on the chin yesterday (not even around the head where everyone goes). His opposition since farmer til now has been non existent punchers, with a 10 percent ko ratio and under. Tennyson likes to bully, and will always come up short against some tough who can stand there catch shots (or take a few) and give back. Straffons biggest name in recent fights was a 43 year old Cecilo Santos. ANYONE with a solid chin and Mexican style with average power would have done the same.

Ps -Ryan Walsh is easily fringe world level and way above domestic

ya ive always wondered myself about what exactly it is that makes a puncher or an ironman

people say speed = power, but then there are so many slow guys with power, and lots of fast guys without it

Yeah strange that punchers usually have weak chins and fighters who have low punch power have iron chins like Wayne Mcullough, imagine if Mcullough had Julian Jackson punch power, probably would have been a mutli time world champion and beaten some bigger name.

GGG probably the most recent complete fighter, had it all, an amazing chin and scary punch power in his peak.

Hopefully we can put to bed that Tennyson was legit contender.

Tennyson was 1/10 on Exchange and 1/12 with bookies.

He’s got away swinging like windmill and having shoot out at lower levels - Nelson had him beating Gervonta Davis

same thing every fight straight in to bulldoze his way threw dont think he carrys a game plan at all.. Think he should get a new coaching set up.

Finally got around to watching this fight.....well, as one round bouts go, that was bloody entertaining

Both teeing off with vicious punches, but unfortunately for Tennyson he cracked first.

James can come back, the punch power looked as destructive as always.

I watched most of the undercard fights on the DAZN shows of the last 6 months and anytime there’s a Mexican fighting a prospect they give it a really good go. Even the ones with poor records. Those fighters that can deal with it will really benefit from fighting guys coming to win early in their careers. Far too often in the U.K. guys are matched early with people with no ambition and then struggle when stepped up. Willy Hutchinson’s the most recent example I can think of.

Matchroom will be announcing a promotional deal with Canelo this coming for Mexican shows. Sounds like a good idea as there must be some real hidden gems there.

Mexican and Filipino fighters always seem to travel with a huge chip on their shoulders and come to fight, shame they aren't here more often and instead we get Latvian bin men, padded Frenchman, and ancient Romanian visitors.

We need visitors here to win, not here to be over paid international fighters putting on journeymen like performances of spoiling and inactivity (Jur and De Carolis on Saturday for example)

It's can be hard to figure out whether the so called no-hoper is just over for a payday.

Mexican imports have been coming over to the UK for decades. It's nothing new and they come in all shapes & sizes, so to speak.

There's those like Lara and Straffon who reek full scale havoc, the ones who give it a good go but fall short and them that fall over at the first sign of trouble.

I just really admire those dangerous Mexicans, and there are a lot of them, that are super tough, fearless and bang
