Re: fighters who defy sterotypes
Interesting topic. I am curious of which fighters breaking these stereotypes:
- top boxer who actually care about quality of oponent more than paycheck
- best current fighter without ANY amateur pedigree
- young prospect who stepped up in his game after loss
- young black american fighter who dont do idiotic talks
- son of famous boxer who is better than his dad, except Floyd Mayweather
- top boxer who actually care about quality of oponent more than paycheck
- best current fighter without ANY amateur pedigree
- young prospect who stepped up in his game after loss
- young black american fighter who dont do idiotic talks
- son of famous boxer who is better than his dad, except Floyd Mayweather
Re: fighters who defy sterotypes
I don’t think Sergei Lipinets had any amateur experience, went pro boxing straight from kickboxing as I understand

Young prospect who stepped up perfectly sums up genuine ATG Henry Armstrong.Cent0089 wrote: ↑08 May 2021, 11:31 Interesting topic. I am curious of which fighters breaking these stereotypes:

Started at 16/17, lost four from his first 5....and the rest is boxing folklore.

Canelo turned pro at 15 so I'd assume he'd have no notable amateur pedigree.Cent0089 wrote: ↑08 May 2021, 11:31 Interesting topic. I am curious of which fighters breaking these stereotypes:

Re: fighters who defy sterotypes
TBF Osakan fighters tend to be more "bad boys" than fighters from Tokyo, Tatsuyoshi was another example get that feeling with Ioka and R. Kyoguchi as well. Likely some form of second city syndrome.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑08 May 2021, 14:17 the kameda bros (at least daiki and koki) loud mouth cocky japanese

Tomiyama was a flashy, flamboyant Japanese fighter, something we don't tend to see a lot of.
Jerwin Ancajas, a brash loud mouthed Filipino
Amnat Ruenroeng, a crafty dirty cheating Thai/a master of the dark arts
Hiroshi Kawashima, a slippery Japanese fighter
