Right...he fought on with it, but found it too excruciatingly painful and got worried about how it felt. My point as a comp to BJS absolutely quitting on his stool with no effort to carry on. His eye didn't look as bad as Dubs.
And if you are the sort that genuinely has the no quit in them attitude look at the Australian girl, Margarito, Lebedov, same for Tyson Fury too.
I think he would get stick for quitting anyway but much more so because of his previous outspoken attitude about doing it.

He did quit, but it was also the right thing to do.
Multi-fractured eye socket, only one good eye.... christ knows what Canelo would have done to him in the next round if it continued. Would have ended horribly.

Bellew has tweeted COYB today as Everton played, nothing on the fight though and Haye has tweeted about online hate today but again nothing about the fight.

Why then when a boxer who had had his orbital bones fractured into pieces and elects to retire from the fight, is it called quitting?
You can`t, or at least shouldn`t fight on with a fractured eye socket, the risk of permanent damage is very real, even blindness.
Yes, he talks some bollox at times and I get that he is not everyones cup of tea, but the guy has balls, no doubt about that. What he did to Lemieux on his home turf proves that.
Quit? nah, he did the sane thing and looked after his health.
