Blake boxed for the Lodge. John-Lewis is from Gillingham so he must have boxed for the local club there, although he may have travelled.

That's interesting that Blake boxed for Fitzroy Lodge. Not your usual stylist that tends to come out of their club.

John-Lewis did indeed stay local and boxed for St.Marys ABC in Chatham.

John Armour territory. John won the ABA flyweight title in 1990, outpointing Paul Ingle in the final at the Albert Hall.

That's right. Armour and Tom Dallas also boxed for St.Mary's ABC.

Cracking fighter was Armour, when he could stay on the straight and narrow. He had some good wins for the Commonwealth bantamweight title.

I doubt anyone has seen this one, but Leigh Allis v Valery Odin was a barnstorming eight rounder that almost had my jaw hitting the floor !

Both gave it everything they had and each had their moments before Odin finally put Allis away.

I was up all night thinking about that fight afterwards :salut:
