When Josh has 60 fights we can judge him.
Why? He's been in competitive fights since his 7th fight and World class from 11. Who has 60 fights nowadays?

Premature for me. He has some distance to go to eclipse the great Ken Buchanan, IMO.

He could be, but can't claim it yet, he still has some holes, some things to prove,, still some questions even if his resume depth is incredible for a guy with 18 fights, but if he gets KO'd in his next fight and subsequently suddenly looks like he isn't all that, is he still the best Scotlands had, ever? Big call

At his peak, Buchanan was the better fighter in my view. Laguna was a truly great fighter and better than anyone who has been beaten by Taylor.

It's Taylor
![[icon_notworthy.gif]](./images/smilies/icon_notworthy.gif)
And if he can keep on performing, then the gap will grow larger.
World class wins over Postol, Baranchyk, Prograis and Ramirez seal the deal.
There's hardly any padding in his record so it's a definite case of quality over quantity.

Ridiculous post. Glad others have already shot it down.

In that case you can’t compare. No point mixing eras. In fact it’s childish.

It is when you only live in the one, 32 years ago. And you have no right to judge any of your favourites, they never had sixty bouts. Good European fighters though.

Mickey has popped to the toilet.

He hasn't even fought at elite level yet let alone won against an elite level opponent. He's still got time to do it but to say he his currently the greatest ever Scot is pushing it just now, it wasn't exactly a classic division he's cleaned out , prograis turned out to be well overrated , barancky was shown to be nothing more than a fairly decent level come forward brawler that suffered a hell of a ko defeat last year, and Ramirez was nothing more than a standard wbo type champion.

I’m sure there’s someone better, but is Gary Cornish Scotland’s best ever heavyweight? It kind of goes some way to emphasise how shallow the pool is.

Hasn't he just beaten the two top guys in the division and is now clearly #1 in his division?
Yes but there aren't any elites in his division, no one like Lomo, Crawford, Spence and Lopez

pure Walter mittee.
As for your somewhat harsh evaluation of Taylor, a genuine question I’d enjoy a serious response to if you’ll indulge me. why do you rate eubank so highly when he happily admits he avoided all the elites in his division? Despite the bravery in pulling out the Benn 1 and Watson 2 wins, his ledger is extremely shoddy over his minor trinket reign. The Rochigiani fight was an ok win, but nothing compared to what josh has been doing tho. Why the high standards for josh given the few Scottish fighters with comparable successes
