Without the benefit of hindsight, Lewis' mullerings of Ruddock, Golota and Grant were pretty special at the time.
Plenty picked his opponents in those fights.
Lewis is way under appreciated. My fav HW of all time.
Think what he’d do with these jokers today.
Different kettle of fish entirely.

I'd say Tua was a better scalp than Grant. Lennox was on his best behavior against Tua.
Yeah, but at the time, there was a lot of hype over Grant. Can't remember anyone really thinking Tua had a chance.

Grant was supposed to be the next big thing.
6ft7 or Sumik.

Grant had been knocked down a few times before the Lewis fight. I only ever saw that one as a massacre. Lewis and Manny Stewart thought Tua was dangerous, because Lennox was in great shape, motivated and disciplined.
No doubt Tua historically was the bigger win, but as the previous poster stated, "without hindsight...."

Yeah, Eubank Sr lended Lewis and Steward his custom-made small punch bag to help sharpen his jab for Tua. Chris was on the phone constantly before that one.

At the time it was a bigger win IMO. Grant looked very limited in the Golota fight.
Fair enough, but I still remember the crazy hype going into the Grant fight. Not the same with Tua. I was more hyped AT THE TIME for Grant. It was obvious afterwards he was a fraud.

He was American and very much looked the part.
He did look like crap vs Golota though. Got lucky the Pole quit.

Eubank - Benn 1, Watson 2, Rocky in Germany.
fornicate.
Good call, I don't think he gets enough credit for the Rocky fight.
I remember Steve Bunce of The Observer in his near ringside seat literally too stubborn or weak to watch Eubank go through his moves at times looking the bollocks. He couldn’t handle it.

MAB was his best name but well gone, much smaller and he had a horrendous cut early but they wouldn't stop it until 4 rounds were gone so they could get the TD

I’d probably make Devon Alexander his third best win. Really good performance.

Maurice Hope.....Antuofermo, Mattioli, both in their backyards for the EBU and the World Title.
Third was a SD draw(shafted) to a German? away again, so taking liberties with this thread.

Eckhard Dagge scored a huge upset to win the WBC light-middleweight title from Elisha Obed in 1976 but spent the rest of his life celebrating his unlikely victory. He looked lucky to get the nod over ancient Emile Griffith in his first defence and then came his 15-round draw with Mo Hope. His luck ran out when Rocky Mattioli smashed him in five rounds but by that stage Dagge was a chronic alcoholic.
