Roy Jones Jr. filed for bankruptcy shortly before his humiliating and shocking loss in 2015 against Enzo Macarinelli.

If he now has several millions in the bank, it’ll be primarily due to his exhibition against Mike Tyson.

The $7m valuation figure seems excessively high to me, because he would have been taxed on his income against Tyson and he would have only been earning peanuts for all his other bouts and punditry (since he filed for bankruptcy).

So where’s all his money come from if he really is worth $7m and why does he insist he has to fight to earn a living?

Something doesn’t quite add up here!

The phrase “do something extra” implies Trillers interest to do another veteran exhibition, due to the commercial success of the Tyson-Jones Jr. paid sparring session.

It seems that Triller has decided to refrain from staging another exhibition (involving veteran fighters).

And Jones Jr. and Tyson are seemingly p&ssed off about not being fully compensated.

I understand the process of bankruptcy isn’t intended to make people completely destitute, but it’s not going to allow multi-millionaires to continue being multi-millionaires (with negligible impact on their lifestyle).

A process to assist the individual to overcome their financial difficulties and turn their fiscal lives around. The bankruptcy court deems certain assets as in play or not for debtors to receive. Sometimes debtors get nothing at all. In the US, retirement funds are 'hands off' to debtors, so just that alone protects large swaths of wealth for an individual. So yeah, millionaires can retain millions.

It was worth less than $100K.

So why would a (post bankrupt) individual (still considered a multi-millionaire) have to stoop so low to scrape the pennies together?

Simple, he wasn’t wealthy at all!

Jones Sr.’s family, confirmed they even had to resort to creating a GoFundMe page to try to retain family ownership of the property.

Do you honestly think bankruptcy is a magic wand? A get out of jail card employed by wealthy multi-millionaires to allow them to keep spending without fear of consequence (i.e. no need to pay the bills)?
