Apparently about 120kg in 2016, a few years after retirement.

https://www.coachmag.co.uk/workouts/228 ... ng-workout
He’s also started hitting the bar. “I’ve never lifted weights in my whole life,” says Froch, who relied on nothing but press-ups, pull-ups, sit-ups and traditional roadwork for almost his entire pro boxing career – all 12 years of it. “But now I’m deadlifting, bench pressing, curling dumbbells, doing some weight-gaining exercises. I’m trying to bulk up a bit.
...
He’s getting up to speed fast, with a 160kg deadlift (for reps) and a 120kg bench press already under his belt. But he’s in no rush. “I’m still under 10% body fat, but now I’m about 13 and a half stone [86kg], about 8kg over the super middleweight limit,” he says, in between posing for the shirt-off shots that prove it.
Still more than that fanny Wilder though, I think!

Surely not, that is insane for a guy who walks around at 85kg and is not a weightlifter
Yeah, it’s obviously nonsense. I’m sure he was talking about a legend (maybe B-Hop or RJJ) walking into a gym he was using whilst he was “halfway through a 240/260 bench press”.
Obviously not likely as Eddie Hall is double his weight, was the world’s strongest man and his max is about 280kg.

Yeah, maybe.
My one max rep with proper powerlifting form (pause at the bottom, ass on bench ect) is 86kg.
I did that at about 75kg bodyweight.

A guy at my gym did 240kg today for a single squat rep. 5 20kg plates and extra on either side of an Olympic bar. Looked extremely heavy! I’d think that would have squashed Froch flat in a bench. Wilder will have you watch he doesn’t tear a pec off his chest messing around like that. He would be an ex-puncher at that point!

His form is non existent. That isn't the weight claimed.
One arm way more dominant, so doing this level of bench press is foreign to his physical attributes.
Baffling really.
I can't fathom why he would post this video.
So is he brain damaged?
Nope.
Just a not particularly bright guy surrounded by yes-men and ego stokers who are fueling a delusion.

maybe its to lull fury into a false sense of confidence with that terrible form :maybe:

It’s looking a bit like Herbie Hide preparing to fight Vitali Klitschko at this point. And that didn’t end well!

Meet me in Milton Keynes, 12am - right outside the ice rink.

I’d bet someone like Charles Shepherd could outlift Froch whilst being at super feather. And he was a total non-puncher. Personally I wouldn’t think Wilder would need to worry about bench press.

Not sure what use bench pressing anything is gonna do three and a half weeks away from facing Fury again.

I can bench 110kg in my garage, on my own with no spotters so I'm a bit chuffed we seem to doubt what Deontay is up to in this video.

I don't think taking this fight is a good idea for Wilder, in terms of where it will probably leave his career afterwards. I think it might be a really bad loss for him. All the cheerleading from his camp, training harder than ever, and all that, seems aimed more towards him than anything else, to boost his confidence. He will have undoubted confidence in his power but I reckon Fury has absolutely got inside his head and knackered him. Fury will have to be careful but he knows now he can batter Wilder and I see a sustained beating being dished out.

But what can he do other than retire?
He doesn’t want AJ, otherwise that fight would have been made before he fought Fury. And he wouldn't have fought Fury if he had known the mental and physical problems Fury had wasn't enough of a soft target to stop him beating Wilder twice..
No easy belts of any value at HW.

No he's not brain damaged. He's just unwilling to accept that he was fairly beaten because of ego.

I hope so, he's repeatedly made disgusting comments about killing opponents including again in the build up to this fight, he's vermin

on another forum i read, that is a lot more pro wilder, they absolutely loved those comments. said it showed real fighters mentality and desire to win :oo

A fighter should be literally ready to kill, when he enters the ring. It's such kind of sports, where you should damage another competitor to win him. If you show too much respect, while an opponent is hunrgy enough, he'll eat ya. However, Wilder was just too stupid to present this idea properly.

Even more concerning is the fact his “choo choo” sounds were out of sync with his hands.

Wilder's antics read/look like a textbook case of overcompensation/projection, and they always have. To me he seems like about the most obvious possible case of a bloke riven with doubts but trying to project massive self-belief, hoping that somehow lots of noise will convey what he wants.

This is recent.
What the hell is he doing max benching for a heavyweight title fight? His form is horrific yet his reaction is even more embarrassing.
If he is doing compound lifts then the dude needs to do some squats.
140kgs for a man of his weight is in no way impressive.

I fear that this guy has brain-damage caused by Fury.
Well, personality changes including increased aggression and paranoia are symptoms of a traumatic head injury. If you look at this video of Wilder before he became a champion in 2015 it seems like an entirely different person: listening, no ego, no jumping around and screaming, no hype men: just getting on with the job.

I wonder what odds Wilder quits early after taking a mauling, shouting about some made-up cheating, before disappearing forever
