At the time? Jazza fought him 2 fights ago…from domestic class to world title legit challenger in a single fight?!?
His best win was the Irish kid not Ryan Doyle
I didnt say doyle was his best win. If it was thats English title level. The irish kid looked ok but has dropped down in weight since and he as been stopped twice since. Good luck to wood I hope he wins but his record puts him at domestic level at the moment no wins their prove his above it. As for dickens by winning minor titles with ibf and wbo is to why his got high in the rankings to gain a shot. Wood hasn't even defended his british title thats the difference
A few holes in this post. The Irish kid hasn’t been stopped twice since moving down in weight he was stopped once by baluta who gave conlan a hard night. Ryan Doyle by your definition is a higher level to Reece mould based on who he fought and beat.
Jazza dickens has fought and beaten more quality guys than can xu has, who is a world champion.
The level you belong at to me is the performances against quality opposition more than wins. I’m not too concerned with what minor titles jazza has picked up he’s fought good men. He didn’t win a bauble and claim it was a legit title like Archie sharp,
Who has fought absolute binmen, and carried that bs title like it means something. Woodstock beat a journeyman for that title, says everything.
Anyway we will see after the fight who belongs at what level and where, fact is if Leigh is domestic he will get shut out or stopped, anything beyond one sided suggests he’s above domestic.
Check your facts. Joyce was also stopped by lee haskins after he fought wood. As for doyle his a tough night at domestic level I never said it was a better win I said wood won a vacant title against English champ. Doyle has mixed in decent company but then loses /draw. (Tough lad who in good fights but the wrong end of the result at that level nothing wrong in that. )
I also think we don't really know what level Leigh is at or what level he can go to as his only boxed at domestic level. I hope he wins and brings some big fights back to the midlands.

Who has Dickens beat that you would say are better than Jesus M Rojas and Nehomar Cermeno?
Not sure there's many you could comfortably say were better than Kubo or Robles either.
lol, so we boxrec his record and try and muster something. cermeno werent sht by the time can got him, at the wrong side of 35....and if youre wondering what kind of form cermeno was in...he got beat by vue, who beat him comfortably, a fight before he lost comfortably to isaac lowe lol.
Kubo doesnt hold a shot and has a thin resume, and robles also has a thin resume.
Ryan walsh is a better fighter than all you mentioned anyway, and wood has the talent to beat those guys too.
jazza also fought galahad and rigo, like i say hes fought much better opp and hes beaten better.
can was in a life and death fight with blanco (watch the fight) and its very obvious why hes spent most of his time in china.
like i say no need to go back and forth over this, ANYTHING but a convincing can win and it proves the point im making. Il revist this post in a few weeks

I agree. Anything but a convincing win against Wood is poor form.

“Opportunities like this don’t always come around, I won’t need another,” said Wood. “I’m going to be World Champion. He’s very good volume puncher, if you let him fight his fight, you’re in for a hard night. I know what I have to do, and I will be exchanging on my terms.”
“I have been idled nearly 20 months without a fight," said Can. "In the past 5 months in Miami, my coach Pedro Diaz has worked me very hard. This is by far THE best preparation for my Title fights. I feel that I am in an excellent status, physically and mentally. In the next 3 weeks, my goal is to focus on the training and preparation. Leigh Wood is a tough opponent to face and he also has the privileges to fight at home. I must devote 200% of efforts to keep my Title. I can't wait to see how I turn out on July 31.”
Conor Benn has tested positive for COVID and so been ruled out of his fight with Adrian Granados on Saturday night.
The young British contender was set to headline the launch of promoter Eddie Hearn’s new UK partnership with DAZN, which has coincided with the return of Fight Camp in the Matchroom HQ back garden.
BREAKING: Conor Benn has tested positive for COVID-19 and is out of Saturday’s Fight Camp main event vs. Adrian Granados. New date to be announced shortly.
The Xu Can vs. Leigh Wood world title fight will now headline Fight Camp 1.
However, he has been forced off the card with Can Xu vs Leigh Wood now set to headline.
Benn said in a statement: “Dear all of my supporters and fans that bought tickets to my fight, it breaks my heart to tell you unfortunately I won’t be competing this Saturday as I have tested positive for Covid-19.
“I have made sure during this camp that we have taken the correct precautions and abided by the highest health and safety measures to avoid this unfortunate circumstance but with the virus still being extremely active this is out of my control.
“I will be working with my management team, Matchroom Boxing and liaising with Granados to work towards a new date.
“It’s imperative that I get back to full health, isolate and stay safe during this period as I aim to be competing again in the very near future.
“I will keep you all updated as much as I can.
“Finally my sincerest apologies to everyone who worked hard to put this event together and Adrian who recently flew over to the UK to put on a good fight… soon come.”

Pissed right off Benn/Granados is off but what can you do? This is still a great fight, interesting, Xu gets a lot of props but his records pretty thin, I know he has a mad engine but not much power, 3 KOs to his name, looks a step up for Wood but who knows, is Xu better than Dickens?? Wood pulled out a fine KO against Mould to win the British and I'm sure a defence of the Lonsdale would've been the likely option but what an opportunity, haven't seen enough of Xu to know how good he is
Not a World title fight though, let's get it right

"Avnyi Yildrim versus Jack Cullen will now be moved from ‘before the bell’ to the main broadcast and the world championship fight between Can Xu and Leigh Wood will now headline week one."

Sorry haven’t read thread. I wanna know:
- is Xu any good as his record hardly is hardly breath taking?
- does wood have a half decent change as I fancy some betting action this weekend

Is this for a genuine world title or nonsense one? Genuinely confused.
