Whilst I’m sure you guys enjoy being nostalgic, I hate to remind you that nostalgia doesn’t rewrite the course of history.
Manny Pacquiao was comprehensively outboxed by Yordenis Ugas.
And the Filipino legend is such a sore loser, he’s claiming the Cuban is rubbish, when he clearly isn’t, and seriously believes that he only lost the fight due to leg cramps.
Even if what he said was true, which it might be for all I know, no sportsman should ever behave that way.
Yordenis Ugas didn’t do anything during the pre-fight build-up to warrant having his well-deserved victory undermined and overshadowed in such a manner.
If the Ugas fight was Manny’s final outing as a serious professional boxer (competing against genuine world-rated opposition), then he’s choosing to hang up his gloves in a very undignified manner.
It doesn’t matter whether the prime iteration of Manny would beat today’s version of Ugas, because it never happened.

In terms of Manny’s criticism of Ugas…
Let’s not forget the inconvenient truth, which was that we saw history repeat itself.
When things weren’t going Manny’s way in the Mayweather Jr. bout, he didn’t try to adapt by making adjustments. He just continued employing the same failing tactics, because he didn’t have a plan B.
We saw Manny do the same thing against Ugas.
And if the Cuban was as bad as the Filipino claimed him to be, he should have adapted his game-plan, but he didn’t.
Manny should try to be dignified and remain silent. And if he feels he can avenge the loss, then he should exercise his immediate rematch clause.

Yeah, but people are forgetting (or ignoring) Manny’s loss and his reaction.
Instead they’re choosing to fantasise over what might happened if Pacquiao fought Ugas in his prime.
It’s almost like they’re living in denial.
I guess that’s their prerogative, but there are more suitable threads to discuss such things.

People can discuss whatever they want mate, and the topic is about how Pac rates Ugas compared to who he's fought at different points in his career, saying that Ugas is a handy boxer who legit beat pac but would've lost widely to prime pac is not something anyone should have a problem with, unless theyre a weirdo about the issue
btw, ppl speculate, discuss things that havent happened , predict matchups that havent happened, etc all the time, you do this yoursellf as do virtually all forum posters
i get it , you dont like manny and want everyone to jump on him, maybe ppl see you reposting the same criticisms over and over and over (like the thread with the gratest) and dont feel the need to do it themselves, since you got them covered already, just a thought

It’s about Manny’s sore loser comments.
For sure, they can discuss whatever they want.
But there are other threads covering the same topic they’re discussing.

At least me trying to steer the thread back on topic again has given me another opportunity to remind everyone that Manny was comprehensively beaten and has been bitching and moaning about his loss like a little spoiled teenage boy!
I’m sure you agree that nostalgia can’t refute those facts, can they?

I’ll keep reminding everyone then, so expect to see the same comments from me over-and-over again in this thread, whenever others discuss something else, because after all, that’s its topic.

I feel the need to make a meme. I’ll do that later.

EO gets very upset when it comes to fan friendly fighters. Ggg bad, Pac-Man bad, Crawford bad.
On the other hand, if the fighter is ill regarded...hughie Fury good, Eubank jr good, etc.
EO has to be Mr opposite. He mistakenly thinks that writing ad nauseam is somehow persuasive. In fact, his repetition is indicative of how unpersuasive he is.

Thats a negative.Bandog wrote: ↑26 Aug 2021, 19:18I heard he beat both Spence and Crawford in the amateurs, so coming from a Cuban boxing team, he can box well. He beat Porter more clearly than Spence did. He beat Pac more clearly than Floyd did. I'd say he's legit. My opinion.H8Usernames wrote: ↑26 Aug 2021, 10:44What talent? Guy fckn sucks man, strange that you can't recognize that.Bandog wrote: ↑26 Aug 2021, 08:00
To begin with, fans like you that can't recognize talent and give credit to a great boxer like Ugas. He may not be on Spences or Crawfords level, but my guess is you think they are aweful too.
How you handle a loss tells much more about your true character than a win.
Spence is ok, Crawford is something special going to waste on the shelf.

Ugas is the most boring fighter. Pac team should have rejected him, he's too tall, good defense, good jab, smart boxer, just the wrong guy to fight. spence thurman pac crawford wouldn't fight him for a reason. Pac should have demanded a lightweight patsy like davis to beat up on. He sold all the tickets, he called the shots. Stupidly, he let haymon trick him with ugas. Ugas will just do the same thing in the rematch. Ugas is so boring.
