He also had a co promotional deal with Frampton but that went by the wayside when he fought on channel 5.
He did very well though getting both Dubois and Tommy Fury on the Paul PPV. Dubois did what he needed to but Tommy didn’t so may not get the big fight he and Frank hoped for.
Frank hasn’t really moved with the times from a promotional point of view but he still has a good TV network behind him so will be around for a while longer. He hasn’t had much success in recent years signing Olympians so has focused on signing young barely senior amateurs. He’ll get some good ones but it’s a bit of a lottery and who knows if any of them will make it big. Ricky Hatton turned pro like this but I doubt whether Frank has the promotional ability now to get someone over like that. It’s been a long while I think since he turned someone over from amateur and guided them to a world title - Billy Joe I think was the last one and that’s a long time ago in boxing.

Good points. I don't think Yarde has much of a future, he might win the rematch and challenge again for a world title but I think his limitations have been shown and its hard at this level to improve. Whilst hardly unique, his career is to me a template of how not to do it. Building his record on imported no hopers with half decent (on paper) records didn't do much for him and I wonder if Fwank would match his fighters tougher in future. At one point, with rose tinted glasses on, Yarde looked like a superstar in the making. Admittedly Kovalev was not the softest world champ ever but to then go and lose to Arthur in a British title fight was a right own goal.
I agree about the transparency of padded records these days. David Haye's two comeback fights against DeMori and Gjergjaj (yes I had to look that up) deserved boxing's equivalent of the Razzies. Combined record of 59 wins, a loss and 2 draws, and they were dreadful.

I can only go by the shows I’ve watched over the last few years and they’ve been mostly awful. No marketing , poor matchmaking month after month. What have the ratings been like?
He’s the arsene wenger of boxing.
Look at how good at job cyclone did at sourcing , matching and promoting their stable on a smaller platform with tighter budget.

Agree about the way the fighters are being matched.
So many soft targets just trying to preserve the "0" and then when they face a live opponent in a fight that actually matters, well they fall on their arses as we have seen.

Surely there is untapped areas and fighters to be signed. Look at DiBella getting Jalolev, Joe Ward etc

It may well take place on BT but we’re a month a way with no announcement, no promotion and no word of a lead in show. It’s not like he’s got another 10 shows lined up or being planned so I’m surprised he and his team can’t get this sorted.
I can understand wanting to go for Bryan. Would set him up for a vacant proper world title fight or a mandatory position. Bryan’s not very good though but it’s understandable from a positioning point of view.
I can’t blame him for fighting on Showtime. I do blame them for the crap opponent though. He still needs semi risky/competitive fights. Dinu was a fine soft touch to come back against. He didn’t need a second one.
Frank openly came out and said they couldn’t get the December fight sorted because of the money - no mention of the legal issues. If you can’t raise the funds for your fighter to fight in their home country then there’s a problem.

Why does the people in the stable really matter ? Just make competitive fights with what you've got. Lots of decent fights to be made.

If they are good enough they would help sales particularly at the heavier weights, it won't do any harm.
Hearn is getting a lot out of Babic who isn't really anything special at all. Imagine you had a Tony Yoka or some of the cruisers.
There is always fighters unhappy with other promoters too, Sky picked up a good few last week. Did FW want any?

Radical thinking, but his next move should be to put on a boxing show that folk want to watch. Which then actually happens. Rather than pair off his trio of light heavyweights against nobodies, to build towards a British 175lb round robin that nobody is really bothered about.

He may well be obliged to fight Whyte, and he may well need the WBC to get the unification. He prob sees It as an easy fight too
