Cliff Gilpin had Lloyd Honeyghan on the deck in their fight for the vacant British welterweight title at the Albert Hall back in April 1983. I can still see the look of disbelief in Honeyghan's eyes as he found himself on his back but it was early in the contest and Honeyghan, a man who trained incredibly hard, was able to come back and punch out a bruising decision. Many moons later I bumped into Lloyd and he told me that Gilpin gave him his hardest ever fight.
