He beat Chagaev. No mean feat, even at the time.
He was way behind and did nothing really good, except catching Chagaev.

Prime lucus brown wasnt great, but he was good enough to be a massive step up for babic. Even sub prime lucus brown would of been a step up for him. But current Brown is a worthy Jake paul opponent, Mabey.

The cabbage would whoop a prime version of Brown in about 8 rounds. Now it's a question of seconds.

I love the honourable naivety MDP.
I know exactly what you mean, but "what is Hearn playing at?" - He's playing at being a great promoter !
Two big names, big personalities on his show with a guaranteed KO - the casuals will love it and the atmosphere will build.
It sucks, but it sells.

Try and just enjoy it - they're adults getting paid after all.

I know Hearn is all about rivalries, intense beef and whatnot but I had more faith in him than this, Browne just got done in a round by a rugby player he's shot to bits, Babic will go through him like butter, I'd be surprised if this goes passed a minute nevermind a round

Galen is awful. But it looked like the fix was in. Browne going over from cuffing shots and scared to throw a proper punch it seemed.

Are you serious?

Browne is simply shot; he has no punch resistance at all. You must have seen fighters like that before?

Gallen is limited but he is a strong fit guy with a decent punch. When that type of fighter meets a fellow who can no longer take a punch, that's the usual outcome.

Skip 2 mins in to where Browne is talking.
He says he has just done a bike workout. That maybe, but he is breathing like he has covid :maybe:
I've just watched the 1st round blowout vs Gallen, and my goodness. There is no way the British boxing board will sanction this fight is there?
The irony is Eddie is ripping on how the Holyfield fight got sanctioned, and yet here he is peddling this horrific miss match

Edit: just been reading the comments on the Gallen fight on YouTube. Wonder if Browne has read them too..

Agree with Kiwi above. I'm not someone that says dangerous etc but I literally seen Hearn go on a 5 minute rant how disgusting Holyfield gate is and he then makes this fight.

I also am skeptical about Browne taking dives. I think his punch resistance is genuinely shot to pieces. The guy wasn't that much and he's 42, is it surprising?

I think there are more dangerous fights regularly. . At least brown will not have enough heart to take a sustained beating like bennet. Throw some bombs for 2 mins then pack it up im guessing.

Bbboc will have no dramas sanctioning this.

Note, I don’t think they should. But I don’t think they should sanction half of big show undercard fights. I’d not sanction a fight if I thought it was more than a 1/10 favourite.

Have a soft spot for Lucas. I was there with about 50 people in the Manchester velodrome long after the Quigg/Munroe first fight had been ended, when he knocked Hastings Rasani out. He posed for photos after and seems a lovely guy.

But he should be nowhere near the ring for this. Disgusting fight and probably the worst thing Hearn's done since James Toney was in prisefighter.

Lucas "Clueless" Browne? Yes, he needs to retire, been hit too much in his last few fights. But overall, he is a nice guy. Maybe too nice for the brutal sport of boxing.

We want Babic to stay busy and this is a reasonable keep busy fight. Those of you that think Browne made Dave Allen look like Ali should perhaps watch the fight back, I had Browne winning at the time of the stoppage and it was a peach of a left hook downstairs from the Doncaster de la Hoya.

Im not saying Browne is going to win, of course not. He is well past his sell by date but he is an ex world champ and is a name on the record of Babic.

Lets not forget Babic's last opponent was non punching Mark Bennet who took Babic into deep waters and would have been interesting if Bennet had power. Id like to think Browne still has a bit of power, if Browne can survive the first 3 then he will have a punchers chance, thats all.

3 fights ago Babic was in with Tom Little. Id say that Browne is a better opponent than Little.
