How can they get away with paying so little for a high up the bill fight on a massive PPV? So many pubs bought it too.....

Because they know Campbell will get some casuals interested. Campbell will have a guarantee - I’d guess £10-£20k per fight and his opponent probably got a little more than any other foreign journeyman. Why would they pay more?

I had a few mates over for the card and they were more interested in watching Campbell than Callum Smith. They were shocked about how bad he was.

Not at the moment mick .Foriegn fighters are having a field day knowing theres a shortage of opps we have been paying more than that for four rounders on none tv shows for foriegn lads.Some english lads have been getting that for four rounders at the moment.

The Hatton pushing can’t carry on much longer….. he’s becoming a laughing stock. If he was a decent prospect you could begrudgingly accept the PR but he’s awful. I mean Hearn you would have thought would know better than having him so high up the bill, in front of 75,000 people and being so poor. I bet think he’s got worse!

I’m not surprised at all he was so far up the bill. He’s an attraction purely because of his name. There are hundreds of more talented boxers but not many that the casuals (a few million of them) will be interested in watching.

Those casuals won’t be interested in watching him again though so it would probably be best to have him lower down the cards going forward and on shows not quite as big until he’s a lot better, which is unlikely to happen.

Saying that it’s similar, although to a far lesser extent from a notoriety point of view, to Nico Ali Walsh.

I think he was fairly high up the card when he made his debut (could be wrong). The big difference though is Ali Walsh can box a little and seemingly has a reasonable punch. Campbell has neither.

America won't have watched it. Fat Dan said there was zero buzz about the main event.

whatever it was by the time you drop half to the ref and then pay trainers etc there isnt gonna be much left .

He was tipped for world juniors honours in Boxing News at about 15. Must be when Eric saw him.

Can anyone hardly blame Hatton here? Terrible boxer with a name being offered good money on big shows? Would you turn down 10-20k? The blame lies solely with Eddie Hearn. Pushing this kid to sell a few extra PPVs.

Eubank and Benn jnr have turned out to be OK but Hatton is awful and will never go any further. Eddie needs to do the right thing here and keep him away from any TV for the foreseeable future.

And the son of Ricky Hatton or Nigel Benn or Chris Eubank will always be a pretty big thing over here. It will always generate casual interest which is what’s needed when selling a PPV.

The bigger concern for me here is Campbells welfare.

Ricky has been around the game for decades so he will know full well he's not good enough to move on further.

He's either still trying to relive his career through his son or completely deluded. Either way he's risking his sons health on a career that's never going to go anywhere. On Saturday he was gassed out and taking heavy uppercut shots off a journeyman. Step him up any further and he could get seriously hurt.

As a parent I fail to understand how he can be comfortable with it.

If he's only had 2 amateur fights and now 4 as pro, I'm sure half the lads on here have had more. It's f all really, Usyk had 350 amateur fights.

Why not get 40-50 amateurs bouts under his belt then go pro? He's only 20.

Hatton nowadays comes across as a complete narcissist. He's probably so far detached from reality that he won't allow himself to realise that his lads talentless.

The foriegn boxers are loving the pandemic they know britain is struggling for opps they are having us right in the net

Think Campbell had about 20 amateur bouts , remember him getting turned over by a lad from Huddersfield who probably trained 2/3 times compared to Campbell who was a full time amateur, he was no where near ready to turn pro , similar situation to Danny Murrell who was Dave Allen’s prodigy had 1 pro bout then was last seen at Ingles gym getting schooled by the amateurs.
