Just got to see the whole fight this evening.
Initially I thought that Joshua could win a rematch but Usyk was getting better late on so I don't think Joshua has any tools to beat Usyk either by boxing him or making it ugly with a brawl.
I wouldn't be surprised that the belts become split again and AJ goes after a vacant version. I can't see the rematch clause taking effect, how can it? Usyk will have obligations and this is why I think the titles will become separated.

I think they should be able to squeeze in a rematch before any mandatories are ordered.
Joshua just fought two mandatories back to back so two of the organisations don't really have a case and the other organisation's listings are a bit of a mess.

Okay…so people want AJ to blow people out quick or the be fvcked
Hardly a surprise is it? AJ was booed after the Carlos Takam fight for not finishing it... Then in the numerous interviews afterward he said they he learnt loads and realises now that "
people want the big knockouts, that's why they watch the heavyweights"...
People have short memories...

I’ve got a vague recollection of people slating Fury’s stamina back in the day.

That stamina needs working on, he needs to be throwing more punches in training rather than 1 or 2 at a time, I saw a vid of him the other week on the pads throwing a left hook over and over, he was winding each shot up, swinging as hard as he could and punching through the target, utterly pointless and pretty much what a novice would do.

they did, i think because he looked really gassed vs big john in the rematch before getting the win
tbf though, that was just a lot of speculative talk as a prospect his early 20s, not an established world level guy in their 30s who has shown it multiple times now

Plenty of Canelo on YouTube doing similar on the big pad. As with any training - different exercises benefit different areas. Perfecting technique/balance/power for the big dig .. seems to benefit Canelo.

Difference is Canelo is throwing them correctly, using his whole body and punching from the chin, Joshua is loading them up like he’s on one of those fairground punching things, it’s not beneficial in the slightest.

Canelo leaves the punch in for a split second. I've seen him doing it on the bags as well.

Maybe that's why Joshua is doing it - to practice and get it right?
I haven't seen the vid of him doing it to be honest.
It does appear the exercise is an important part of Canelo's fighting style .. how he bashed up Smith's arms was very old school - yet new.
The (very) old timers would do that too; but I can't think of a relatively modern boxer doing it other than Canelo??
Saunders was just the last victim of that exercise to correctly deliver that thunderous punch.

Yeah I get the practice but just not the way Joshua is implementing i, seen him doing with the uppercuts too just aimlessly swinging away like a pub brawler, well if they think that’s helping him in some way then good luck to them.

I think a 2016 AJ stops the 2021 version in 5 rounds.
The fact he’s in better physical condition now shows how poor tactically he’s became.
He’s employed a team of yes men who think they can turn his into a prime Muhammad Ali.
He was a fantastic finisher who was physical and deadly on the inside with a devastating uppercut.
All those traits have vanished.

That’s what happens when you get chinned by a fat Mexican!

Yes its likely a confidence problem now. He has looked vulnerable since the Wlad fight. A front foot fighter increases the chances of a punch having them on wobbly legs.
Some fighters just seem to lose their chin .. has Joshua realised he has lost his? it is clear now that he is not sturdy taking any sort of sold punch.

Yeah he panics when he gets hit hard. It's funny how some fighters suddenly lose their chin, though it's usually after a tough career. And if 25% of those sparring stories are true he can't have had much faith in it anyway.

Which means since trying a challenging opposition.

Yes, his opposition is more demanding now. The gifted boxers seem to transition to the next level effortlessly .. others like Joshua, and his doppelganger Bruno, struggle.
