I quite like Gareth. Didn’t like him when he was on every U.K. UFC tv show but have warmed to him. He’s eccentric but I think he does know his stuff.

Bob ruined though which was really funny. Good on Bob. A couple of other highlights for me on Davies was when they were playing a friendly cricket game inside the bubble on one of the shows last year - Gareth brought his own bat and gear in anticipation of it. The other one which made me laugh was when Froch grabbed him from behind in an interview and Gareth was ready to throw hands (and feet) with him.

He’s a character and I understand why people don’t like him but I’d expect just as many do like him.

yeah, he is still a wankstain though :TU:
Maybe! But in light of this he gets a pass from me! Tbh I haven't really read or listened to his stuff to make an informed opinion, and I am still feeling a bit stupid!
if you have the chance to watch his tv input for longer than 15 seconds i imagine you'll arrive at a similar conclusion.... his cheerleading during (EG) Garcia- Luke Campbell was nauseating
Tbh because I had him and Lewis confused, I deliberately never watched his stuff!

I looked up 'Gareth A Davies' in the Collins English dictionary and found the following:

Gareth A Davies (latin - Maximus Bellendicus) is a product of the worst aspects of British journalism who allegedly specializes in Boxing and MMA matters. This self proclaimed fashion guru continues to antagonize fight fans through UK/World with his hideous dress sense and alleged dulcet tones.

Gareth A Davies - fell in love with himself at an early age and has continued to remain faithful ever since The Sun

An absolute prize prick The Daily Mail

The dress sense of a blind retard Boxing News

If visual and audible stimulation was diarrhea then Mr GAD would be completely constipated The Daily Telegraph

its the hair, the glasses, and the 'James May off Top Gear' shirts that really annoy me about him. And his voice. The words he uses. Just that, really.

Claims he’s “the most read Sports writer in Europe” (not the world…… yet)

Anyway I had to laugh at Bob Arum rinsing him recently:

He looks about 60 but seems active in boxing only recently….. what was he doing before?
He conned Pete Buckley into giving him an interview and then slated him in the piece.
I think it was more him trying to get publicity for himself, as it seemed he was starting out.
And then he came on here lamely trying to defend it saying it was the editor who changed it but we sent him away with his tail between his legs.
God that was him? I remember that.
Was that the "World's Worst Boxer" article ?
TBF he claimed that the tagline isn't written by the sub not the journo (true) BUT it was still a bit snidey wasn't it ?

The story should have been about how good you have to be to be that 'bad'.

I rate gareth. he's one of the few journalists who actually cares about and pushes combat sports with a passion (plus is quite knowledgeable). he asks more interesting questions than the usual run of the mill shtick too, guys like fury tend to open up to him. but predictably, arsehole fight fans (the ones who moan that boxing doesnt get enough mainstream coverage...) slate him basically cos he looks a bit different.

For me, as a journalist, he is complete head and shoulders above Bunce. No comparison. some of bunces articles are just woeful.

Surely a thread about Gareth A Davies can't pass without mention of his fine swordsmanship?

This point is always made whenever conversation turns to Gareth on here and I think to myself who’s gonna bother telling someone that a random boxing journo has a big dick and so I always assumed that the person posting this info was Gareth himself . Judging by his narcissistic personality it seems just the kind of thing he’d do.

So milpool spill the beans ….. are you Gareth ?

Why would any serious so-called boxing journalist say something as stupid as this publicly? His defenders will say oh he's just being provocative and creating a bit of buzz, getting attention on the sport etc.

But if you're going to claim credibility do it with knowledgeable, intelligent opinion backed up by fact. Not retarded hyperbole like this.

Any moron can say something idiotic to get attention but then they're not pretending to be Britain's leading voice on boxing and MMA. It doesn't add to the credibility of the sport in any way.

bridges is more dave allen, if his drawing power was due to his huge bulge
