Great fight. Amazing heart shown by both. I was however a little unimpressed by Fury’s conditioning/preparation. I’m hoping it doesn’t continue to be an issue.

On the other hand, my respect for Wilder has grown. Actions speak louder than his delusional words, and he showed a tremendous amount of courage in there.

I hate to speak ill of someone’s future prospects, but Wilders past paints a picture of someone who won’t be wealthy for long. Hopefully he’s changed his ways so he can provide for his kids after the money from getting beaten up by Fury runs out.
Hopefully.

Wilder has shown his heart but the next time this happens to him his corner needs to stop it sooner.

If he chooses to continue on.

Pros

*Spartan like training
*One of the hardest punchers in HW history
*Incredible success for late start
*Incredible heart

Cons

*Excuse of loaded gloves was over the line. Benign excuses are understandable. Egos are on the line.
*Not a great chin
*Not a great sportsmen.

A lot to admire and a lot to criticize, but some of the criticism is stupid like he can't put thoughts and sentences together and/or he's the worst person in the world. Both are BS. I've heard boxers who can't talk and read about boxers who are nasty people. Wilder is neither.

It’s ridiculous to claim he’s one of the hardest punchers in HW history. He has not proven that in the ring when you look at his incredibly thin resume.

He’s also a woman beater, which doesn’t qualify him as the worst person in the world, but definitely nasty.

He'd have to be in the top 10 HW hardest punchers.

I don't know the details from that accusation, he may have had his hand on a hookers throat. But haven't we all.

Kidding there, but with some accusations there isn't a whole lot there.

I didn't see the fight yet, but here to say my prediction was wrong. Congrats to Tyson Fury for winning! I hear it was a great fight. Hat's off to Wilder too for giving his best.

Sounds like she got bounced around pretty good.

It’s definitely possible he’s a top ten all time puncher, but it’s also possible he’s not. He has fought exactly one guy who could be considered among the best of his day, and his power was not enough. Knocking out bums, also-rans, and an old guy with a padded record doesn’t automatically qualify you as a top puncher.

he fought better in the 3rd fight than in the 2nd and did what he went on and on about last time - " went out on his shield "

he is still a total clown with a lack of respect for other fighters .

Wilder is definitely a true warrior. He got put into some bad positions and the man never showed an ounce of fear. I didn't like the way he handled Breland but if he had just kept to the towel coming in and firing him for that it would have been cool. You cannot stop a man you work for with repeated orders to never stop a fight with the towel.

Even in reflection on that Wilder stuck to his guns on it and backed it up with those 11 rounds....5 of which he gutted out way too gassed from carrying too much weight...and he never once factored in his own well being into anything. Dude would legitimately rather be stretchered out or worse than to not give every ounce he has trying to win. And I never saw him scared even once in all the thrashing he was taking. Dude has serious conviction and mental fortitude.

The ref and doctor have to do what they have to do. Mr. Breland shouldn't have done what he did. I think it did work out and save Wilder more serious damage, allow him to claim he finished on his feet, and make him a lot more money even in the 40% side of the split. But he defied the bosses orders and Wilder is the real deal on it. And he proved it fight #3 even though he and Scott screwed up royally gaining weight. If he came slim to win he would have given a much better go of it. Might not have even had to go out on his shield if he did. But he went out the way he wanted....thuddingly bad. But it honored his word and stance at the same time too. Props on that.

Wilder was more saved by the bell in the 3rd than Fury in the 4th.

I don't like Wilder. I can't stand to listen to him speak. He is disrespectful, he's a braggart, he lies about fighters ducking him and how he plans to be undisputed. I have grown to dislike him intensely... except when he is in the ring. I have to concede that he has provided me with plenty of entertainment, I have always enjoyed his fights.

I have always acknowledged that he is a warrior in the ring and this third fight has greatly increased my respect for him as a warrior, as a fighting man. He really doesn't know the meaning of 'quit' and that is admirable.

Hats off to you Deontay: Terrific puncher, fearless gladiator, utter dickhead, I salute you :salut:

Wilder's always been a warrior; the Luis Ortiz fights showed us that.

His courage against Fury 3 was no surprise.

His problem is poor sportsmanship and a lack of class, but I suppose sportsmanship doesn't pay bills.

I'd personally like to see him quit as he clearly cannot be champion again, unless the titles fragment again, but if he does continue, there's some potential cracking fights for him to be had against second tier opposition like Ruiz, Whyte or Parker.

Wilder was valiant has weekend.

But he’s not a “warrior”, his resume is weak for a fighter that’s engaged in thirteen world title bouts.

And he also rejected multiple career-high payday offers to face some of his big-name rivals.

His post fight antics are exceptionally juvenile and unprofessional.

One fight doesn’t erase five years’ worth of history, where his WBC title reign was very poor.

Being a douchebag and a cherry picker doesn't take away from him a refusal to quit in a fight.

I gave him kudos for his performance against Fury.

But he doesn’t possess the “warrior” mentality for his general approach to the sport.
