Well this is a pretty underwhelming matchup, I must say.

My subscription at £1.99 ended the day after that Smith Fowler fight.

Who would accept the increase to £7.99 on the basis of their current schedule?

Punters must be leaving in their droves.

This really is game changed. Is the sport over? We can't rely on Tyson to bail us out every year.

exactly, feels like a fight you can imagine happening right after jazza and kid fought for the british in 2013. the step up to euro level for the kid!

now it's happening for a world title after jazza and kid fought in 2021 :yay:

maybe rendall munroe will feature on the undercard

I’m still ok with it but really disappointed in this card. I would have paid £20 to see Whyte/Wallin so the way I look at it is that the old PPV price is 2 1/2 months of DAZN. The Mikey Garcia show this Saturday isn’t anything special, the Andrade show is good in November (albeit the main event is a bit meh), there will be Golden Boy shows (hopefully Garcia/Diaz on one of them) and we’ll get Lopez/Kambosos which I want to watch now.

Lob in a few other shows from Mexico/Italy/Spain and the value isn’t too bad.

I’m just frustrated with the lack of U.K. shows, the quality of the whole Sheffield show and the current paltry undercard for the Whyte show.

If you are a Boxing fan, particularly one who doesn't have Sky Sports, DAZN works out fine at £7.99,

Of course, if the DAZN/BT deal delivers, then you end up with a price point much closer to that of Sky Sports.

I'm happy enough with Sky Sports and BT for my overall sports fix and then will continue to stream DAZN and the PPVs when I fancy something enough.

Kid is going to get rinsed for this, it’s a soft fight for him, but kiko really beat zelfa so he’s not in bad form

I’ve got both BT and Sky Sports and because I’m primarily a boxing fan I get more value for money out of my DAZN subs than the other 2 although I watch all of the UFC on BT.

This is the first time in a long time where we’ll almost be getting a live show every week in the U.K. so hopefully that continues.

Think he had a fight in Barcelona a month or so back.
Yeah as I don’t think they would let him challenge for title off a defeat.

If you are a genuine fight fan, the kind who would have paid for allegedly, I can see how it could seem like value.

But there will be a mass exodus amongst the fringe/casuals who would have been drawn in by Canelo and Eddie’s glossy fights camps.

Eddie was interviewed yesterday by Boxing Social and they said about the negative reaction to this show. Eddie was aware of the negative reaction but then tried to justify it being a good show - was very false.

Granted if they get Billam Smith a good opponent and some solid undercard fights then it’s not a write off but the main/co main are both really disappointing.

Not sure what happened to Billam Smith supposed show in Bournemouth, also I thought the McCarthy rematch was on the cards? That would be a much better fight than a EBU voluntary

Agreed - would rather see the rematch.

Eddie seems to have abandoned the smaller shows and is focusing just on one supposedly big show a month. Shame as if they lobbed on a NextGen or smaller show every 5/6 weeks then people will be happier.
