Not a bad call although people often forget (which again might solidify the claim) that he went on a pretty decent run post the Lewis defeat and even won a version of the world title again.

Elisha Obed.

Hated Tarver for ages after he iced Jones Jr.
Was sweet to see Hopkins completely dominate him despite coming in as an underdog.
Didn't mind Tarver when he went on to do some punditry afterwards but I think he pissed hot a couple of times and messed that up for himself.

hineyghan and tarver's biggest wins were way bigger than their others, but they both had multiple good results

Michael Bentt marmalizing Tommy Morrison. A quality amateur but this performance earned him a good
few surf'n'turfs and yards of ale. Tommy was touted to face Lennox in his next bout.
Steve Little dethroning Michael Nunn on the undercard of Benn v Wharton. The downside being he
was now in the clutches of King who didn't want him. No big money to be made.

Beat an ageing Tsyu,.
Stepped up twice and got schooled both times
Castillo was passed it, squeezed past Collazo, Malinagi, Maussa.
It aint great

I don’t know about getting schooled by Mayweather. He was beat but it was semi competitive for 6 or so rounds. Hardly a schooling a la Calzaghe/Lacy.forcefraser wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 04:54 Ricky Hatton.

I think the worst thing to happen to Ricky was that he waited a little too long to step up (although he fought Tszyu at the right time) and he became less active. He should have been fighting 3 times a year as inactivity was really bad for him and his body.

Fair play on Tszyu been past his prime.forcefraser wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 04:54 Ricky Hatton.

Thought Collazo probably deserved the decision in that fight too.
Wouldn't say he squeezed by Maussa or Malignaggi.

Wasn't Mallinagi so one sided the corner stopped it?Webbo911 wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 05:58Fair play on Tszyu been past his prime.forcefraser wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 04:54 Ricky Hatton.

I couldn’t see who he beat? Who was it?

Also with regards to really obscure fighters you could could all Marvin Hagler’s, Bernard Hopkins’s early losses.
Or the guy that beat Joe Bugner on his debut

Yeah. Think it was Buddy Mcgirt who pulled Paulie out after the 10th or 11th.
Fair play to Malignaggi, he was fuming about it.

Obed boasted a brilliant record going into a world title shot against Brazil's Miguel de Oliveira in Paris in November 1975. Boxing News reported from ringside and was raving about Obed as he dismantled the rugged and seasoned de Oliveira in 10 rounds to wrest the WBC light-middleweight title. Nobody expected Eckhard Dagge to trouble the new champion when they met a few months later in Germany but Dagge soaked up Obed's best punches and kept on coming and in the 10th round, Obed suddenly turned and walked to his corner in obvious surrender.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑29 Oct 2021, 06:23I couldn’t see who he beat? The ex-champion never regained the heights and served as cannon fodder for a host of young guns in the years that followed.

Chris Eubank Jr.
Slightly different one here in that he dines out on no results as he hasn’t had a single impressive win.

Jim Twite knocked out David Haye in under a minute of first round in the ABAs. He withdrew from the ABA finals. Had 3 fights in pros, got kod in a round. Retired.
