Yoka is chinny. And he would rather play cuckold with his wife.

Me too, and I'm trying to remain optimistic.
But they have been moving Yoka so slowly.. That this seems a bigger step up than you would expect. Either that or I rate Bakole, which I do.
Wouldent say yoka has been moved slow compared to whats standard, even for a olympic medalist. Rice 2nd fight, Allen 5th fight, Duhapas 8th, hammer 9th, milas 11th... Quicker than most, but agree i would like to see him pick it up.

Fair enough :TU:
I make 2 mistakes when I think of Yoka.
1, I measure him against the career of Joe Joyce. Just because I thought Yoka would advance quicker because of the gold.
2, I forget the time out for the drugs ban.

Dont think joyce has gone that far ahead of him when you take into acount the year off. Also joyce is old so needed to move. And joyce is just a better pro i think. over 12 rounds not many more scary than joyce. imagine if it was the unlimmited round era, fornicating shit yaself befor fighting big joe.

The drug ban put a spanner in the works, but yes he has come back active despite the China flu etc.
I can see why they don't have the Joyce match, no one wants to risk it just yet even though I think it would sell very well in the UK and bloody France.

Hi Billy.
If this was Billy he'd saying Bakole deserves the gold medal when he dances around like Ali, then knocks him out like Tyson and showing the of speed of pacman. Just glad it's in France so we ain't got to listen to him bang on

Unfortunately Joyce hasn't also been moved along as quick as he should have. Started brilliant, but its now been nearly 6 years since his Olympic silver. With the extensive experience he had in the Amateurs and the poorness of the Heavyweight division. He should have been fighting the likes of WIlder before Fury did. Looks like the Heavyweights titles will be taken up for the rest of the year now.

Get in with the Bryan / Charr winner is what I say.

Obviously he is no Lomachenko - but with the experience Joyce had and his age- he should have been really knocking on the door within 2 or so years.

The HW division is a tough division to move along.
Everyone is on their own path, working their ways towards a mandatory, some fighting nobodies.

Just to get that title shot.

In the past 20 years, mjoarity of that time, there has been 2 champions at one time.

We get the odd 'transitional' champions.. They just keep the belt warm though.

I agree but at the same time - we had a guy turning over in his 30s and with hundreds (I would guess) amateur fights and many of these were against the very very best amateurs in the world. He was beating guys in the amateurs who would beat the level of Dave Allen on their pro debut.

Nobody said when David Haye was calling out Derek Chisroa to be Joyce's SECOND fight that it was a suicide mission and a ridiculous claim. After all this was Chisora who had been brave but lost clearly when he stepped up to world class and Joyce needed to get a move on.

5 and a bit years later and if he fought Chisora now it would still be his best win.

I don't think he should be sitting down and just waiting for a shot to come - time is pressing. He might make more money going down the WBA route and defending that belt against the best of the rest in the UK and using that exposure to call out Fury / AJ / Usyk etc.

Fully agree. Joyce has been handled really poorly this year. One fight and nothing concrete lined up. Lost a fair bit of the momentum he had post Dubois when they should have been getting him out 3 times to build his profile so when he does fight for a world title it’s a big deal. If he was younger than it’d be bad but at his age it’s even worse.
