I really like David Diamante both as an announcer and as an individual. I was really saddened when I heard the news and wish him a very speedy recovery and hope we see back in the ring soon.

update
He said the following:
So many people have reached out to me during the past few days. Because of my condition, it has been impossible for me to respond personally to every message. But the love and support I've received has been incredibly meaningful to me.
I sustained severe injuries on Monday, December 20. On Tuesday morning, a team of remarkable neurosurgeons led by Dr. Joseph Pyun rebuilt my spine. On Wednesday night, with great effort, I was able to stand for a few seconds with assistance and take a few small steps with a walker. That's a good sign. I'm going to walk again. Once my condition is stable, I'll be transferred to a rehab facility.
I understand the gravity of my condition. It's with me every moment. My body has to heal. It has been through a massive trauma. Even with medication, the pain is excruciating. I woke up this morning and felt like I was in a torture chamber. There was pain everywhere. My entire back felt like it was in spasms. It's hard to describe. But the pain means that my nerves are connected and alive.
I've had a lot of experiences in my life that came with pain - physical and psychological. I got through them and was in a very good place when this happened. I'm going to get past this and be in a very good place again. I don't feel sorry for myself. I don't feel defeated. This is just another part of my journey.
My thanks to my family, my friends, and the boxing community for all of your love and support. It's brightening some hard days and means the world to me.

Sounds like he will be fine tbh. It’s hardly Paul Williams territory.
Standing a few days after… he will be back soon.

I'm surprised Guzzis are available in NZ. Easier to find Japanese classics than in the UK, though.
A mate of mine had an RD350 in the '90s, and I really wanted a Chesterfield RS250 at the time. Got a CBR400 now cos I'm too old for monthly breakdowns!
I see Diamante was pictured on a Speed Triple instead of a hog, so respect for that.

I’m a road cyclist and the thought of riding a motorbike gets me hard, but having experienced the knobs in cars for many years I think you want to die to ride them. I’m a good bike handler so I can jump onto the pavement and manoeuvre out of the way at 35kph no issues if I feel in danger.
Not that easy doing 100kph.
