The lineal thing means nothing to me but who gets to decide who the lineal champ is? Why was Wlad lineal champ and not his brother? Or the various other WBC champs? I don’t disagree that in all likelihood Wlad was the best at the time but who decided that he was the lineal champ over whoever was the WBC champ at the time?

For me there hasn’t been an undisputed number 1 until someone properly unifies the titles.

It was huge with all boxing fans long before Fury came along. The WBC was always regarded as the main belt, too.

The lineal stuff means zilch when the best avoid the best.
The Ring magazine is a pretty belt (plastic lonsdale knock off) .. but even less credible.

a few years ago when people were getting sick of all the different champions people were interested in the ring belt knowone gives a shit about it now or the lineal bollocks

The Ring belt started off with good intentions. It didn't last too long before the favouritism seeped into it.

Nowadays it nothing more than just another bit of advisement on whoever happens to be popular.

Larry Holmes beat Ali, then it was Mike Spinks, Tyson, Douglas, Holyfield, Bowe, Holyfield, Moorer, Foreman, Briggs, Lewis.

Lewis didn't lose it in the ring, so he is the the man who beat the man etc. Fury is not the Lineal Champion, that sir, is a fact.

You're missing a few out there, see my previous post. Spinks etc. The belts have nothing to do with it.

believe it or not , there have been tons of other ring and lineal champs, but fury bois feel the need to mention his status about 1000x as much as any other fighters fans do, ,its almost cute

defo no other fighter in history has had fans care as much about it as fury. maybe since he lacks the discipline to put together more than 1 defense of an actual title with obligations
