not quite bubi but if he was born in germany then every one should shut up about where he boxes out of. I agree he is german then.mickeybeard wrote:Then he's at least as German as Lewis is English.BubiScholz wrote:yes, but he was raised in Turkey. well then it becomes debatable as the fighter himself doesnt want to recognise his nationality, but as far as Im concerned born in germany is good enough.BubiScholz wrote:he could have a german passport but he hasn´t.mickeybeard wrote:Then he's at least as German as Lewis is English.BubiScholz wrote: yes, but he was raised in Turkey. Urkal and Koc have one.
Urkal feels himself as a german guy, Sam identifies himself turkish. who cares? It´s up to everybody if you can chose between 2 or more nationalities.J wrote:well then it becomes debatable as the fighter himself doesnt want to recognise his nationality, but as far as Im concerned born in germany is good enough.BubiScholz wrote:he could have a german passport but he hasn´t.mickeybeard wrote: Then he's at least as German as Lewis is English.

thanks knockout, i thought Lewis and Hide reigned at the same time......knockout wrote:when lewis beat Holyfield for the WBC, IBF and WBA titles 13/11/99 there was 5 months while Vitali was WBO champ before losing to Byrd.
Wlad regained the WBO crown in 14/10/00 by which time WBA title belonged to Ruiz....
so there has been a time when technically there were no US champs.... but since Holyfield in about 1997, Lennox and then Vitali have been considered the true champs of boxing..... first time since Schmeling I guess.....when the "undisputed crown" didnt belong to an american.....
