Think Audley was someone, a bit like AJ, who came to boxing late and while I think he was articulate and well spoken enough to be a good presenter - I just think a bit like AJ its not "in grained" enough for him to be a pundit. Early career Audley reminded me a lot of AJ not in their fighting styles but in the way they spoke - Audley was also a walking cliche and would talk about "learning" and often say things like they only focused on one thing in camp.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑27 Jan 2022, 14:22 I was always impressed with Audley anytime he was on Ringside or doing some punditry at live shows. He did a twitter live last night - there is an hour one and a 10 minutes one still on twitter. I didn't watcher the hour one, the 10 minute one was enough. He has gone to a really ugly place with it all, I know it must be easy for me to say he should just took the money and laughed - a bit like Joe Bugner did.
Like when Mickey Duff said to him 'it's all about the money with you, Joe' when he went a lackluster 15 rounds with Muhammad Ali for the world title in Kuala Lumpur
'Yeah, and being able to spend it' retorted Joe.
Joe Bugner was right, it's all fine and dandy about talking about 'laying it on the line' and being a 'warrior' but what happens when it is all over? No-one gives a shit and it is obvious Audley has a lot of issues to get over regards what happened with his pro career and is obviously in a bad place with it all. I want him to find mental peace with it all and his family over there in the sunshine of Los Angeles - he does deserve that.

Yes, I hope whatever he is going through he can find the support he needs. He's having a pop at Froch, because Carl rightly said his performance against Haye in 2010 was cowardly, that he's been mugging boxing fans off for years and getting away with it.
Froch said his PPV farce essentially puts off casual armchair fans and that it ruins it for everyone else. That armchair fans got sucked into Audley's sales routine and that he has ripped off fans for years.
I remember Haye rang Froch on his way home from Manchester, shocked at the easiest pay day he'd ever made in his life. He told Carl something like "its a shame there isn't an Audley in your division".

I was at the Haye fight, the only thing worse than his performance (think he landed one punch) was Bunce squawking endlessly after on R5 all the way home about how it wasn't a fix, it wasn't cynical matchmaking and Audley wasn't poor, Haye was just much better.

Is it true or am I dreaming this, that it was later revealed that Haye and Audley were regular sparring partners and Haye always dominated the sparring sessions.
I actually remain convinced that Haye went into that fight carrying an injury, look at how some of the awkward his shots were when Audley was hurt. Haye seems to only want to throw his right hand.

they did spar and think haye was destroying him and audley come out with he was just getting into camp and haye was just finishing camp haye was all wrong for audley too quick and too accurate
