Now yeah they don’t fight hardly, because they have PPVs to build up and sell over many months when they do fight.

Joe was always on free Sky sports. (And Cardiff ice rink)
I was at the Reid and Eubank fights. Both were ppv.
Not due to Calzaghe. Reid was the star.
Or it could have been PPV to include the Oscar De La Hoya/Ike Quartey show in the US.

Actually - you’re probably right - Reid was the star.

The long build-up on social media for the Reid-Calzaghe clash was most certainly memorable.

That makes about as much sense as you saying Reid was ‘the star’ of the PPV.

There was no ‘star’ of a PPV that sold less than 100k. But Reid was bigger than Calzaghe at the time.

Maybe, he'd just lost to Malinga and Calzaghe had only really beaten up Eubank.

Most of the lads I knew were Reid fans and didn’t know Calzaghe. He had a great look, Reid. Chiseled physique and down to earth. Some cool kayos. Nobody I knew had heard of Oscar de la Hoya and I only knew him from his name in magazines.

The image of Calzaghe was one after the Eubank fight at the post presser looking like he’d just been 12 rounds with Mike Tyson 🤣

The very same presser where he held the belt after he'd just floored and outpointed Eubank ?
