benn's team arent nearly as confident in him as we are, i agree hed beat ava, it's exactly the type of fight i want for him now. a guy who comes to fight hard and has momentum in his career, not the endless stream of inactive pillowhands they currently have a throbbing pulsing raging hard on for

Frustrating isn’t it.
Maybe they know something we don’t.
We all know what happened with big Cedric but those were flash knockdowns caused by shitty positioning caused by inexperience.
Either that or it’s Hearn whose petrified of losing the revenue caused by a defeat.
Something isn’t right anyways; they should be begging to fight Ava as it makes all the sense in the world.
I bet you it’s Robert Guerruero in the summer in the US with Eddie spouting “we can’t put Conor in with the big boys until he’s had the pressure fighting abroad”.
I really rate Benn. I understand moving him slowly but I think we all agree this is much too slow.
Weird as Hearn was gonna feed McKinson to Ortiz.

I’ve been so engrossed by the thread about the other David recently that I read this title as “Is David Diamante a top ten welterweight”

I’m no expert but I’d have Brook and Benn at the bottom of that list or just not on it. Where does Josh Taylor go assuming he moves up - 7th :maybe:

He would be a great gate keeper - if any of the up and coming guys would face him.
Benn skipped over the European so fast, he was an unidentifiable blur

According to Ava’s team, they wanted Ava to give up his EBU belt and fight Benn on a world title (not final) eliminator. Which also, would have given Ava a smaller purse than he would get defending the EBU belt.

Man, Benn hasn’t even won any meaningful belt.

He’s had the WBA continental belt to help him climb the ranks, Spence/Bud are moving up soon, and you can sure as bet Hearn will on to WBA for the vacant world title shot, quicker than he can say ‘shamon muthfvka’..

Ava didn’t read the script.

Benn and his team were all for fighting Josh Kelly for the EBU belt prior to the fight, but Kelly lost.

Then was never any real mention or call out for the Ava fight.

Ava is dangerous for Benn.
The guy is on a serious late career roll.

Can’t put him in there until he fights at 147 then it’s about who he fights. If he fights someone in the top 30 as a welcoming fight then I’d put him 11th in front of Ava and Kava. If he fights and beats a Ugas he will go in at 6 for me.
But I don’t put too much thought into rankings; way too subjective and you get ripped apart by posters that won’t post their own,
