I thought some, especially Sky, were out of order harassing Tyson about it on fight week.

It's called journalism, it's not like they were doorstepping him. If fury is going to keep company like that, he can't spit the dummy when he gets pressed on it,

This 100%. It's incredible that a man of Kinahan's background can waltz into boxing without journalists asking serious questions.
Gareth Davies, Bunce and the other lapdogs should be ashamed of themselves. They're not journalists they are professional ass-lickers.

Bunce the biggest disappointment. A proper boxing journalist who prides himself on “telling it like it is” and shits his pants over the k story.
The GAD has always been a joke.

Bunce has addressed it on his podcast. I'm not sure tv would want his name even mentioned. The GAD, what can you even say about him?

Has anyone listened to Catterall and Davies's boxing show on Talksport? It's like Smashy and Nicey do boxing. Utterly cringeworthy.

I’ve no time for whining journos - largely they’re a bunch of entitled pudenda. What’s the big deal about being ringside anyhow - most of the time when the camera pans to them they’re watching the fight on their monitors.

Go on then deserter explain to me why we need this “calibre” of journo ringside. What do journos do for the sport that makes it so crucial to treat them like kings.

For one...
When I study the great prizefights of yesteryear and the general history of the sport, the cotemporaneous sources I go to are not the 19th century equivalent of Kugan Cassius.

So ok with Donald McRae and Matt and Tris I take your point. But Ollie Holt, Sean Ingle, Riath etc are just feature writers who have no more love for nor interest in boxing than they do for curling when the Winter Olympics comes round.
In any case, highbrow tomes and angst ridden articles are not the only way to promote boxing and ensure its long term health. What Kugan and his counterparts do might not be to your taste but it draws in a hell of a lot more fans to the sport than articles in the guardian or the boxing news do.
If each of the 94000 ticket holders had been sent an email asking which of these two men have you heard of … Mcrae or Kugan I guarantee you Kugan gets a recognition ratio of 100:1

I don't disagree really. There's a place for both. I genuinely think back to the quality work I have read from history and hope some bloke in 100 years will have a similar resource as well as the lowbrow videos and what not.

Yeh well boxing doesn’t need any more dumbing down, it’s dumb enough as it is.
Kugan the butt kissing sleeze ball shilling for a crime boss, talking any old bullshit as long as the price is right !
As opposed to Matt of BN taking the fuckers to task and upsetting Frank in the process. Ones a journalist, the other’s a bozo w a camera

I’ll tell you what’s dumb - on the eve of the biggest fight in British boxing history with 94k tickets sold and half a million PPV buys in the pipeline it would be unbelievably stupid and counter productive to antagonise Tyson by badgering him with questions about a situation that is nothing to do with him.
He’s his own man is Tyson he does what he wants when he wants - he nearly walked away from the Wlad fight cos of the ring canvas. These journos chasing a cheap headline by harassing him might have jeopardised a £40m event.
Frank was right to be annoyed with them.

Bollocks, Tyson wasn’t walking away from anything, apart from an awkward truth. “Nothing to do with him” ….yeh well suddenly it’s nothing to do with him now, it wasn’t a few months ago when he was posting fan pics W the godfather and signing his praises.
This tip toeing around you’re calling for, so as not to upset the applecart, is the type of crap we have to put up with from too many of the hopeless bums covering this sport. Bunce, iftv, Davis et al
Long live the real journalists covering boxing and voicing some home truths.

I don't really have a problem with this. I know it's a cliché but - he didn't get to where he is now by being nice (especially in boxing). He's just being real.

Are you serious ? Never has boxing News being stuck back as far from ringside as that before… the only other time I can remember is when they criticised the Mickey Duff cartel & Claude Abrahams was stuck behind a pillar as a result, and before that they were banned from Duff shows
That was Frank.
It was a Frank show. At least the journos got in to the stadium. I've been banned from shows, refused entry at press conferences and had my credentials 'misplaced' until after the main event. This has been going on for years, nothing new.
