Maybe a bit if bling, but not the thousands on designer shoes and clothes. Country boy made good might have one suit, and some hand made boots... i notice that wilder, whyte, and cunningham all came out hard with some serious crying and excuses after losing to fury, beyond the typical stuff. i think excuses for losing to fury have to rank among the collectively most bizarre/pathetic in boxing history compared to any other fighter. among other things, fury has been accused of:
-literally using voodoo
-drugging opponents
-imposing white privelege on them
-putting egg weights in his gloves/pulling his hand down in his glove so he's not hitting with knuckles (lol)
-employing spies
-koing guys with pushes (whyte and cunn both claimed this)
what is it about fury that engenders such crying? is it the fact that a cocky white dude is beating their ass? that may sound silly, but wilder and cunningham are known to have some rather strong views are race.....i dont recall wlad being quite t he crybaby these 3 were
if that's not it, why do you think it is
Basically it's racism. They'd rather lose to 10 Black guys than 1 White guy.
Never a white guy is it?

I did say ‘most of the time’.
Was fully aware of Plant when I wrote that.

Lennox said before Morrison and Vitali that it would be massively embarrassing to lose to a white boxer.

dev haney has pulled out the never losing to a white boi line too...........is it just some talk to get attention, or do they really mean it?
tbh, i could see how for a black dude it might be considered embarassing among their social groups. boxing is 'supposed' to be their thing

You never hear a white boxer say, they can never lose to a black man.
Would be game over.

I would say black fighters are in a minority around here and by quite a distance. Especially in the amateurs. And by round here I mean Yorkshire, which is very diverse.margaret thatcher wrote: ↑29 Apr 2022, 18:43 dev haney has pulled out the never losing to a white boi line too...........is it just some talk to get attention, or do they really mean it?

Of them all I would have to say that the younger Klitschko brother had the biggest sour grapes of them all. To this day he has never really given Tyson Fury the credit. The hands never let go because quite frankly Tyson Fury never gave him the opportunity to let the hands go.
Then when Klitschko fought the mechanical Anthony Joshua and it was a slug fest everybody bought into the Ukrainian's excuses for losing to Tyson Fury, when the reality is a guy like Anthony Joshua was in the mold of the type of guy's Klitschko beat for nearly a decade--- so of course Klitschko was going to look great in a fight with Joshua.
But Klitschko would never look good against a guy like Tyson Fury. The older Klitschko brother is the one who would have given Tyson Fury a lot of problems but even that fight I would argue would most likely be won by Tyson Fury, simply because the Englishman is faster and harder to hit than people give him credit for.
Re: the excuses for losing to fury are the weirdest in boxing history - why?
Yes, the robotic bodybuilder was a much easier matchup for Klitschko than the elusive Gypsy King. The Klit just failed to choose a proper gameplan and suffered because of over-pragmatism.HomicideHenry wrote: ↑30 Apr 2022, 03:24Of them all I would have to say that the younger Klitschko brother had the biggest sour grapes of them all. The older Klit was tougher, but he was way more limited as a boxer. The Gypsy King would indeed be too fast, smart and skillfull for the big Klit.

Alan Minter said it prior to the Marvin Hagler fight in 1980 but racial slurs happened back then. Kevin Finnegan, who also fought Hagler, claimed that Hagler had refused to shake his hand with the words, "I don't touch white flesh."Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑29 Apr 2022, 21:43 You never hear a white boxer say, they can never lose to a black man.

Not many white boxers in America
At HW between Marciano and say Vitali/Wlad there weren't any top heavyweights unless your looking at occasional great white hopes like Cooney and Morrison, they still amounted to little.
Re: the excuses for losing to fury are the weirdest in boxing history - why?
Forget race. Fury, on form, humiliates people. He winds them up during the build up, and when they can't do anything with him and lose, they're proud men and are flummoxed and embarrassed. Wlad couldn't get set to throw, and ended up looking frightened and timid (I actually like that fight and watch it back occasionally, despite everyone saying it's shit) Cunnigham had his famous KD but otherwise got run over, Wilder had his dodgy draw with a unready returning Fury and then got his pudendum kicked in for two fights. Just beaten the shit out of. Whyte, a big hard brawling man, could barely get near Fury and got one shot KO'd.
Like I said, these are proud men who have been publicly humiliated. They'll clutch at straws to try and save face. Anything to ease their bruised egos.
With the Americans, I think they think the British are all sitting around eating crumpets and drinking tea. They don't really get that the UK breeds some very hard men. And Fury is from a family of serious villains and knocks about with an internationally recognised gang boss. When Cunningham said "you wouldn't even get to the airport" or something like that, after the fight trying to be gangster, and Wilder asked Fury "have you ever looked into the eyes of a killer?" They both clearly didn't understand Fury's life history.
That Fury seems quite a nice bloke, considering the people he's had around him all his life, is actually quite an achievement.

Re: the excuses for losing to fury are the weirdest in boxing history - why?
as much as people want to shoot you down there is some truth in that, because ive known loads of people that think like that and it goes every way, also goes north london cant lose to south london east or west, goes london to birmingham or any gaf past wembley cant lose to northerns or west country on south to the pompy boys, same with liverpool manchester so on so happenes with the mexicans born in america v mexicans born , london irish v irish. but i think the main factor is ego you cant expect losing unless your finnished , also i think fighters delude themselves so when there family say call it a day they say nah he cheated i should of onemargaret thatcher wrote: ↑26 Apr 2022, 18:54 hear me out...
