Better from dogboe, still very unfortunatly let gonzalaz get a flashy combo in 2 seconds to go in the round....
very close round.
Last round will likely matter. backing dogboe for it seeing as he dosent have to save energy for anything.

Razor close round, imo. I think Gonzalez won it, though.

6-4 Dogboe, but I can see the scorecards being all over the place.

No idea who won.. fun fight from what i saw. Buttttttt, why was it a 10 rounder if it was suposidly some kind of elliminator? surely all elliminators are 12 rounders.
Re: Joet Gonzalez vs. Isaac Dogboe | ESPN - July 23, 2022
Good, really close fight. Could have gone either way.
Re: Joet Gonzalez vs. Isaac Dogboe | ESPN - July 23, 2022
I feel Dogboe did enough. I'm happy that he won it, but it's an uphill battle. He doesn't have the cardio for FW. He's too juiced, and doesn't have the power he did at SBW.

Dogbo on that lucky path right now. MD, MD, SD... Nearly as good as Kambos tripple SD run (although i think he won those fairly clearly and only got SD'd cause he was the away guy.).
Re: Joet Gonzalez vs. Isaac Dogboe | ESPN - July 23, 2022
All week I was prepared to bet Dogboe; at the last minute I went with Gonzalez. I scored it 7-3 for Dogboe.

Dogboe is a mad man!
He wants a 3rd fight with Nava.

Had it 96-94 Dogboe, cracking fight, really competitive, great action, swung back and forth, Dogboe was quicker out the traps but Gonzalez came into things and a lot of those rounds were swing rounds, some good exchanges, good body work from both men, I just think Dogboe edged it, Gonzalez was the best I've seen him but his slow start cost him

Flores Jr. is so unlikable. He also kept hitting Gio behind the damn head. I like watching him take a beating. Dude thinks he's better than he is because Top Rank played musical chairs and somehow picked him to try and promote. His ceiling is a gatekeeper. He's a little better than a journeyman at 135, though.
Re: Joet Gonzalez vs. Isaac Dogboe | ESPN - July 23, 2022
Tremendous fight; I had it 5-5 but glad Dog got it because Joet give round 1 away for free and Dog finished strong.
Credit to the judges. Perfect scorecards.
Think he can stop Vargas tbh; I had him losing to Magsayo and he was very hurt late in the fight and struggled to recover.
Vargas is gangly af so if Dog can get inside with his 100 punches a round ethos then he can overwhelm hi … if he can’t then he loses a decision.
50/50 fight imo.

Come back well from nearly being stopped inside 2 minutes but lost pretty convincingly.Mexi-Box wrote: ↑24 Jul 2022, 12:12Flores Jr. is so unlikable. He also kept hitting Gio behind the damn head. Looks fat at 136lbs and looks a bit chinny at lightweight; needs to get a decent nutritionist to get to 130lbs.
Otherwise at 22… he might well be done.

Joet Gonzalez Wants Dogboe Rematch, Manager Will Make Request To WBC
“What a great, competitive fight,” said Frank Espinoza, manager of featherweight Joet Gonzalez.
“Joet did a great job. He attacked the body and was very effective. Dogboe is a hell of a fighter and he had his moments but in the end I felt that Joet had pulled off the win," Espinoza.
“[Joet] did his job and it was close. Dogboe used to be a word champion for a reason. He’s a talented fighter,” Espinoza continued. “This is one of the closest fights I’ve ever been involved with and if you speak to different people in the media and you’ll get different opinions about who won.”
The ESPN commentators had the fight scored dead even at 95-95.
“This was a hard fought, fan friendly fight. Very exciting. But let’s face it we didn’t get a clear winner,” said Espinoza. “I think the fans would greatly benefit from a rematch. This was a WBC title eliminator and getting that title shot is a once in a lifetime opportunity for these guys. They both deserve clarity.”
Gonzalez felt he clearly won the fight.
“Much respect to Dogboe he’s a great fighter but I felt I did more than enough to win. I’m feeling very unsatisfied with this decision,” he said. “I absolutely 100 percent want a rematch. This was too close. If I’m going to lose I should feel like I lost but I don’t feel I lost this time.”
Espinoza will be seeking a rematch immediately with the WBC.
“Absolutely. The fans and the fighters deserve part 2 of Gonzalez vs Dogboe,” he said. “These guys careers are on the line. So you’ll see even more of a dog fight in the re match. They know what’s at stake. It’s their future and their family's future. These guys have a lot of pride and they’re hungry for greatness. This is one of those rematches that will be a guaranteed war. As the commentators on ESPN said, this was a special fight. And special fights deserve a rematch.”

Should be Dog v Vargas next then Joet getting the winner.
Re: Joet Gonzalez vs. Isaac Dogboe | ESPN - July 23, 2022
i thought dogboe edged it, joet gave the first 2 rds away that cost him the fight wasnt necessary either, dogboe is game and tough did enough he wont improve on that win tho for me
