They have taken the belt in an easy fight, will chance their arm legally and move on. This whole thing played out how they expected it to, I reckon.

Re: Daniel Dubois Sues Don King For Non-Payment For KO Of Bryan
This is from King’s lawyer…
“DKP has made all requisite payments towards Mr. Dubois’ purse,” Gonzalez said in the statement. “Pursuant to Florida State Athletic Commission Director Patrick Cunningham’s instructions, proof of payment in the form of the payment for the 30% IRS backup withholding was provided along with $475,000 setoff towards Mr. Dubois’ purse at the instruction of Mr. Dubois’ promoter, Queensbury. Additionally, and at the instruction of Mr. Cunningham, an escrow deposit was made in the amount of $134,000.00 representing a final balance due Mr. Dubois after applying a setoff of $319,000 for outstanding monies owed DKP by Mr. Warren. Also, all sanction fees owed by Mr. Dubois were paid in full to the WBA.”
Essentially saying they haven’t paid $319k as that’s money owed by Warren to them. I guess it depends who their deal is with. If imagine it’s directly with Dubois so they shouldn’t be doing any kind of offset.
King also said Frank didn’t come out to the US as he’s banned from the states.

He made some very valid points.
Re: Daniel Dubois Sues Don King For Non-Payment For KO Of Bryan
Warren and WBA stiffed King on the purse splits. King turns round and doesn't pay the purse.
Color me shocked

Got to love a FW rant up there with a Dana White rant.

I wonder if DK will put his company into liquidation and then start it up again under a new name.

Fwanks IFL rant is a laugh. gets a bit fired up, and fairly so, king is a nightmare..
but then weirdly mentions he is prsonaly suing king, and when asked why he seemed to say becase king is saying fwank is DDDs manager, when fwank is actually his promoter.... kings statements might not be true, but hardly defamatory...

What chance a previous company of which Frank was a director went bust owing DKP money? If that did happen it does not mean Frank would personally owe Don a dime, but it would give Don at least something to get his teeth in legally and morally to at least mess Frank around for ever going forward. For Daniel's sake and for the good of any working relationship Frank has with Daniel going forward I suspect he is trying to make it absolutely clear that neither he nor Queensbury has any managerial tie to Daniel and that King's effort to link Daniel and Frank is flat out wrong.gregregegg wrote: ↑05 Aug 2022, 19:10 Fwanks IFL rant is a laugh. gets a bit fired up, and fairly so, king is a nightmare..

I personally believe they should all walk away and get on with their lives. The outstanding tax liability is the price of getting the belt.

Yes, such as:
Pay your contractual commitments
Be honourable
Be a man of your word
Be a man of your signature
Some good advice from Frank to Don there.

I thought a lot of the comments were a bit rich coming from Frank.
It’s not a good look for him. Dubois getting a third of what he should have received and Don’s saying the reason for that is because Frank owed him money. It’s complete rubbish but you can imagine Dubois not being too happy with Frank over it.

It sounds like Frank fooked Don over years ago for a few hundred grand and Don has now effectively underpaid Daniel by that amount and is saying ask Frank for your money.
Frank keeps saying that he isn't Daniels manager and wasn't part of the contract (legally correct) - however what he is really saying is look Daniel, its nothing to do with me so if you want your money then you need to sue Don.
Coonts the both of them and as usual the one to lose out is the boxer.

Remember when Tim Witherspoon fought Frank Bruno at Wembley in '86.
Poor Tim defended his WBA strap in a tough fight and was paid some ridiculous amount like 31,000 quid ! Don and his son Carl totally robbed him and countless others.

Don King, he arrives with the champ and always leaves with the champ
