Anyone else think the time of day they announced it was a bit strange? Just checking back on the first tweet it was at 20:45. I thought you'd want it to be during the daytime, to get more press on the day.

30 days to promote at a c.10,000 seat arena. Given how close it is I’d be surprised if they actually have an announcement press conference.

There’s been talk of Wood on this date for weeks now - I wonder why Matchroom are seemingly struggling to get shows locked down and announced.

DAZN.
I wonder what they have they’ve got to gain though from not wanting to announce early. People are more inclined to cancel when there’s nothing confirmed coming up.
For all their ills Matchoom are a very professional outfit. The current shambles of scheduling and uncertainty over fight dates and plans for fighters has to be linked to DAZNs troubles and their pivot to trying to make quick profit and PPV.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes.

Great fight. Lara is exciting. So is Wood.

This could be Wood’s 3rd fight in a row where he’s the underdog with a trinket on the line and the 3rd fight as an underdog he could win and still not be a world champion.

Mental that.

that seems to be the case. to me it has the ring of a desperate outfit (DAZN) lurching from short term crisis/decision to the next short term crisis/decision.

I honestly think this is a massacre. I can’t see Wood taking Lara’s power. I think it’s good night early doors. It makes me wonder why Hearn has made the fight. Knowing what Hearn is like I would’ve expected an easy defence & then a Warrington fight in the spring.

It’s a cracking card but it’s annoying that Hearn keeps doing this. They can put shows on whenever on Dazn. They don’t have to work round football or any other sport & he’s just doing it to be a pudendum. There’s no reason at all for this to be on the same night as Joyce - Parker. Whenever there’s clashes it’s always him announcing his show 2nd. It’s got to be deliberate.

Worst decision they ever made was going to DAZN

I think they’ve had the Nottingham Arena booked for about 6 weeks. It’s just taken ages to announce it. I can understand more clashes given the accumulation of shows (music, sports, comedy) making open venue dates in certain cities difficult but I still find it weird how long it’s taken to lock down and announce.

What's the delay in actually announcing it though? Surely the earlier it's announced the better.

People should watch Lara’s last fight. Looked gassed after a couple of rounds and fought like a lunatic.
If Wood gets him past 3 then he can box him well if he can keep him long.
If.

Lara KO1 for me.

Yeah it was a fun 3 rounds. Lara was reckless and Sanchez is a quality fighter.

Yeah possibly could end up like Crolla v Barroso.

So many on here jerking off at the prospect of the ‘not real World champ’ losing to the guy who wiped Kevin Mitchell out.

I knew about it three weeks ago, including the Rankin v Harper fight

30 days, I'm thinking Lara might be a bit overweight and spend most of that time losing the weight, so not fully fit.

They probably the fight confirmed a while back. Both guys must have been training weeks ago.

Just the announcement took a while..

Just in case some of you guys are wondering about a KO 1 prediction, just watch Lara go to town in R1 of his last fight.
It's even more reckless than Warrington 2 :o

I just don't think Woodie can keep him off, and weather the storm, because its a heck of a storm...

I figure he has the runs.
Normally they photograph them during a difficult poo.
