Non professional & Celeb Boxing

Gents I concede I am on a downer with regards the state of professional boxing in the UK at the moment.

I think the state of UK professional boxing stinks if I were honest, I am not talking about the higher profile fights.

Whats p*ssing me off is what the hell is happening with Probellum Fighters which a lot of North east fighters are signed to.

If I am wrong please convince me otherwise

I found out Sam Hyde, who I think is quite funny, was fighting on the KSI card and watched the fight on YouTube yesterday. It was beyond awful, really really bad.

I didn't watch any of the rest of the card.

Rather than filling me with doom and gloom about the impending death of boxing, it made me think that from these uninspiring displays people will either become interested in boxing and look to find better, more interesting proper fights, or they'll be turned off and grow bored with it eventually.

People are very fickle, we know that. This is just a fad. When has 'celebrity' anything not fizzled out and gone off the boil? Hasn't Jake Paul's recent fights either fallen through or suffered from poor ticket sales?

It's a sideshow, a novelty. I wouldn't get that upset by it.

Professional shows are full of non competitive fights where the result is all too predictable.

Am I wrong please reassure me professional boxing is ok!!

Spud, pick an upcoming show that is going to be televised where the matchmaking on offer is offending your sensibilities.

We can then have a look at it in advance and see what the consensus is on here as to the competitiveness or otherwise of the scheduled bouts.

We can then watch the show and see how the contests turn out on the night.

The referees are much worse compared to the YouTubers.
I see this as more Sunday league football with a much bigger following compared to the pros. Is not really marketed towards anyone over 30 who likes the boxing, more like 8-30 who follow the fighters online.
