Hoye had to have 3 attempts to make weight while Woods only needed the one. Hoye maybe not in the best shape.

I was convinced Hoye would do a job in Woods but the weigh-in shenanigans mean that I may now think twice about doing my nuts on him at 5/6. Cotto showed last week (alomg with plenty of thers down the years) that struggles to make weight count for plenty.

Here is something very appetizing that I ran accross at a sportsbook.

I grabbed Woods +10 w/ their 'Point Spread' option Betting. If it goes 12, the cards should be fairly close in my opinion. The knockdowns arehuge though as they count as 10-8RDs adding 3 pts on, 1 pt extra on each card

Too often a fighter is favored by such a big moneyline that players often don't want to lay the chalk. When looking at the NFL, if Texas is playing the N.E. Patriots, one would be hard pressed to take the underdog Texans with the moneyline. However a +20 with Texas would be more appetizing. You can lose the game , but cover the Point Spread. Same holds true here. You can bet a live underdog, lose the fight, and still cover the point spread. Takes away from the 'bad beat' hometown decsions that have plagued boxing in the past. In same respect, you can lay the point spread on the favorite and avoid those high moneylines.

Here's how it works.

*The point spread is determined by the difference in the combined total of all 3 judges scorecards for each fighter. Bouts must complete the total scheduled rounds listed.
Example: The point Spread on Fighter A is -18. Fighter A wins bout by scores of 120-108,

116-114,117-111. Fighter A total 353 minus Fighter B total 333. The score would be 20. Therefore

Fighter A -18 would win the wager.

*A bout that does not complete the listed scheduled rounds is declared 'No Action' and wagers are refunded.

*If point spread and difference tie, wagers are declared a 'Push' and wagers are refunded.

Woods will be winner via UD if he managed to stay unhurt in first four rounds. I am also thinking that Hoye's KO ability are overrated.
I am going to bet on Woods by UD at 4.95 on 5dimes.

hoye was less than a Lb over, nothing much to worry about i would say...

I feel its unfair to say Clinton is shit, he never ducked people, he's been in with the best (Jones & Johnson) and is willing to challenge a fairly dangerous big punching american (Hoye), i think Clinton deserves respect aint been many British guys had the balls to face the best, i think he deserves a win tonight, come on Clinton boy i'm rooting for ya.

Why people keep coming up with the bizzarre idea that Woods is something of a fall guy and a crap fighter is beyond me.

True he is no Roy Jones (the prime one anyway) but he is legit top 10, perhaps even top 5. He has won legit titles in the British, Commonwealth and European. He has follwed the tougher, traditional route for a British fighter and he definately deserves a reign as one of the major alphebet champs.

If he wanted to, he could have one of the longest reigning WBU champs of all time, but he knows it's beneath him.

Clinton is also one of the nicest guys in the sport.

Come on Clinton!

not shit, but average. this fight is a farce IMO. every Universum or Sauerland light heavy and super middle would easily win this fight. i watched both Johnson-Woods fights. they were horrible. I just took a look at the boxrec top 30 in light heavy and could find at least 20 guys who are better than Woods. the one who wins will hold this title once.
