Yes I would say so - he's probably by now earned more in the ring David Haye given the shear number of PPVs he has done and when you think how much Haye outclassed him 10 years ago.

Whilst he will go down as a true ATG of British Boxing, I do sometimes get a bit annoyed when you think of how much Hamed earned compared to MAB (at the stage of when they fought) given the dominant way in which Barerra beat him. Barerra's overall total purses might have been more, but that was only due to his longevity - definitely at 2001 - Hamed was earning so much more.

Yes but Hamed entertained, brought people to boxing, Sold places out, sold PPVs etc off his personality, style, showmanship and charisma. Pubs used to be packed when he was fighting just watch the Prince in action.
Think how many Brits got into boxing because of the Prince. Better or not Barrera didn’t have those qualities. He deserves his money tbh.

There must be millions of rappers better than 50 cent but he sells records so…. More to do with the record company I would suggest but you know what I mean

Interesting. After losing to Cleverly he did well to parlay a short time as a cruiserweight belt holder into a money-spinning grudge match series against Haye at heavyweight

He's fought twice now since this statement was made.

As I wish for any boxer, I hope he gets out with all his marbles in tact. I get the impression that it is not just about earning money: he loves the competing and being involved in big occasions, which I can understand, as that is his profession, but I hope he doesn't fight on too much longer.

I think the damage has been done now. In ten years he’ll be talking to lamp posts I’m afraid. Very very sad to see him still being matched!!

chisora needs to retire and stop taking up fight slots that the up and coming fighters need .

He has taken some serious head shots.
I hope you are wrong but I feel you are right

He doesn't sound full on punchy but he isn't as sharp as he was, noticed it before first pulev fight. Should of went out after he beat that French heavy who battered him for 6 rounds before getting sparked

del's had a great career, fought excellent opposition and could easily have a couple more wins on the record (eg whyte and parker 1, clearly helenius)

with different handling, he could've been a long reigning paper champ

I don't know about long reigning, but he probably could've picked up a belt. He's at least as good as some other 21st century titleholders we've had.

Like I definitely would favor him over the 2006 version of Oleg Maskaev for instance.

CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy) or punch drunkedness can take years to severely impact, even after the damage is already done.

A 40 year old still getting regular doses of heavy head trauma could potentially be requiring supported living by his 60s.

CTE is now rampant among former boxers and footballers and the footballers are lining up to sue for damages. Sadly the boxers have nowhere to go with their claims. Occupational hazard.
