It was probably just contamination.
And I for one hope the apology to Zolani is as loud as the disrespect.
Agreed.
The key question that doesn’t seem to have been addressed with this is that in order to ascertain whether Tete incorrectly took a banned substance we need to establish how frequently he reads his bible.
I can’t make any judgement on the contamination until that comes out.

The normal excuses and really strong denials are not coming out for fundamental key reason… Tete cannot afford the lawyer.
It makes/confirms the Conor Benn situation even worse because the lawyer is key.

I understand his father (a former drug addict) has confirmed his son could not have taken drugs as it's' not in his DNA'. Or was that someone else. Confused now.

Queensberry Promotions Issue Statement on Report of Zolani Tete's Positive Drug Test
“We are engaging with Tete’s team and they have advised us they will challenge the finding,” he said.
“We are confident that this is one big mistake. Zolani has no knowledge of this and in all the years I have been with him he has never failed a dope test. It baffles me that he would do it now at the tail end of his career,” Tengimfene said to The Daily Dispatch.
"Queensberry Promotions were first informed by BS.com on Monday (21st November 2022) that former world champion Zolani Tete allegedly returned an adverse analytical finding following a UKAD test that took place, five months ago, after his fight with Jason Cunningham on 2nd July 2022," the statement explained.
"At this time Queensberry, who promoted the show, has not been formally notified of any issue by UKAD nor indeed by the British Boxing Board of Control and therefore, without any substantiated information are not able to comment further.
"At this time, without such information, or as to what substance has been identified, we are not qualified to make further comment.
"Tete’s management refute the claim and will request that the B Sample is analyzed immediately and will co-operate with any due process."

Boxing South Africa Commission Suspends Zolani Tete's License As UK Investigation Continues
“SAIDS [South African Institute for Drug-Free Sport] wrote to us about the findings by the anti-doping agency in the UK where Zolani fought in July and we have the obligation to act,” BSA chairman of the board Luthando Jack announced on Monday. “We will wait the outcome of the “B” sample because Zolani’s camp, which we were constantly in contact with since the breaking of the news, assured us that they are going for “B” sample and they will let us know once those results are out.”

WBO has given Tete 10 days to give them a reason he’s failed his test otherwise he’s out the rankings.
Did Benn get the same deal? He’s WBO 4.

There’s no rules or guidelines.
They just do what they want and when they want.
Surprised by WBO. Frank usually has them in his pocket.

“Four years without a fight at 35 is a long time, so, ja, we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it,” said Tengimfene told Sowetan.
"The first blow for us was when it was confirmed that Zolani had tested positive for doping; the rest was secondary. At least it was something we expected, hoping for the best after the hearing. Four years is mandatory, however, we were given an option: agree that he doped, divulge the source and we will be given three years.
“It was tempting but the fact that Zolani did not dope meant we would rather accept the four years. Zolani was always cautious; he’s been tested 10 times before and he knew he was going to be tested after his fight with Jason. I will always be there for him because he did not disappoint me.”
While he mulls the rest of his life, Mdantsane would advise his charge to return to school.
“Four years down the line, Zolani will graduate with a sports management degree,” said Tengimfene.

Given how much prominence has been given to eggs in other cases, it is surely no coincidence that "Zolani Tete - I'm clear" is actually an anagram of "I nail omelette czar".
