Crowd looking a bit sparse…
Whyte vs. Franklin going in at the Wembley at the same time...
What a letdown of an ending...

Not sure I agree with the two judges that had Parker ahead. Not a great deal in the four rounds but I thought Ryder was doing more to take three of the four rounds.

Parker retires after four rounds with a ‘broken hand’.
Parker getting a bit of a roasting by Bunce, Dempsey and Denzel Bentley about his premature retirement.
I guess only Parker knows how badly his hand hurts…

I thought Ryder definetly won 3 was coming stronger parker seemed to have no answer for him was getting bullied in the 4th then parker re tires claiming broken hand took the glove off quickly to show everyone but forgot to stop scratching his nose with same hand , who knows Bunce was suggesting he dogged it , might be something in it, One things for sure he aint beating Ryder in a rematch , he,s found his level

He was out for a while with a hand injury b4 I believe, could well be completely genuine, but it did look dodgy.

Real strange ending. I had Ryder 3-1 and I thought he was taking over in the 4th.
The pundits implied Parker may have dogged it. Who knows. The injury is probably legit but there’s been many examples of fighters breaking a hand and continuing. Calzaghe did it a couple of times. That’s part of the reason he was a great.
For what it’s worth I think the injury was genuine but Parker also knew Ryder was getting on top so chose a way out. Perhaps if Parker had had some tougher fights in the build up rather than blown up middleweights he’d have been used to adversity.

I think Parker was getting knackered and realised he couldn't hurt John or keep him off.

Really when you look at Warren and his track record its just the same old same old ,, get a lucky boxer ,, Lucky because he's the one Fwank chooses ,, build them u on sub par and smaller fighters , get the ratings have a crack at a title , usually one that he's been manipulated too , win it couple of defences , make a false god , fight someone decent get beat retire with both earning lots ,, its a prven formula for Fwank , what happenned here DUNNO , mAYBEE fWANK FIGURES I'M IN MY 70'S HAV'NT GOT TIME TO NAFF ABOUT THROW HIM IN QUICKER .,,, There was the prospect off finding Canelo at the end of the rainbow ,

Not fought in over a year, new born baby, desperately needs a pay day as he’s never been in a big fight before. Maybe he’s injured his hand before the fight so took it for a pay day? I wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the situation.

So this thread 2 pages for a decent main event on paper (not so much in action). Friend went, said there's no atmosphere
I was thinking that.. He will look good against average fighters that just stand in front of him. Bit of skill and he will struggle like Darryll Williams fight.

Plenty of fighters hang in there with broken hands, ribs, jaws and dislocated shoulders.
Parker wanted out.

Watched Argentina v Mexico then switched over to see Shiraz, who looked good and could go a long way.
Main event was a joke, Parker out of sorts and getting roughed up then bails with his hand. Zero signs of pain when they replay where they think it happened, didn't look swollen when he took his glove off to show everyone.
Commentary team had a go at him, and rightly so. Can't see him doing that at a packed Pride Park but in an empty 02 must have felt an acceptable way out of what had become very difficult very early

Yeah. He was actually WBO number 1 when he came to Frank strangely. Frank should have done more though to get him a better learning fight. He’s been with Frank for 2 years and this was a big step up and he wasn’t used to adversity.

Nice exposure of Parker by the tough mofo Ryder. That pressure was too much for Parker.

Yeah. It’s a strange one. He did well to make it through the Williams fight and I thought the Murdock fight was pretty close and he came through it well.
It just seems he got used to one-sided fights and he looked for a way out. We’ve seen dozens of fighters fight on with broken hands or worse. It came across that as soon as Ryder was getting on top he didn’t know what to do and looked for an out.

I think so too. Parker was trying a few things early on, but I also believe he folded under pressure, ran out if ideas, and wanted out.
Sure his hand might be messed up, and that's his call to make I guess.
Ryder is a pretty formidable guy to all but the best movers. If you can't get out of his way, he tends to relentlessly steamroll guys.

Crap ending.
