Can You Forgive One Of Your Favourite Boxers Failing a PED Test? Please Explain Your Reasoning.
Re: Can You Forgive One Of Your Favourite Boxers Failing a PED Test? Please Explain Your Reasoning.
Depends. I always gave Fury a pass as his B sample came back negative. That was his defense. He popped for recreational drugs which is irrelevant and only hurts him. He also told UKAD where to go when they turned up for another due due to him losing faith in the.
BJS one was not cheating....nasal spray legal in UK
Enzo and Whyte (1st test) jack 3d where there were not ingredients listed also get a pass.

Lol, the negative answer is up. People are so naive. All top athletes are juiced.

I'd say Jon Jones is more of a raging sociopath than just an asshole, guy is scary how he can just flip the switchjoshj909 wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 09:25keithmoonhangover wrote: ↑01 Dec 2022, 12:20 It's a no from me. PEDs have no place in the sport of boxing.
I was a Tyson Fury fan from the start, but once he failed the test, that was me finished. Povetkin was another difficult one to take.
Wasn't the Povetkin one a bit of a unique situation where the drug was recently banned but traces can stay in the body for months after? Same situation as Sharapova whose Dr was prescribing it.
I agree with this. There are different drugs, different scenarios and different excuses where some are much more plausible than others. Every athlete should be incredibly careful what they put into their body but some are doing things with the intention to knowingly cheat and a in the case of Jarrell Miller, cheat as much as he possibly could.maverick23 wrote: ↑01 Dec 2022, 13:27 I don’t think all failed tests are equal.
I don’t think Enzo Maccarinelli was a cheat and I also don’t think Canelo is either and I’ve read a fair bit about his case. I don’t really think of them as cheats.
There are others, like our old friend Larry, like Jarrell Miller, who should be banned from the sport for life.
In MMA, there are two guys with failed tests I see differently. Jon Jones, known asshole, has failed for roids in his peak and has managed to get away with it time and time again. Anderson Silva tested positive once towards the end of a long career following a devastating leg break and a lengthy lay off. I tend to believe what Anderson did was definitely wrong but it was clearly a confidence issue whereas Jones just wanted to cheat to win. I probably have bias with that but each scenario is different. I still believe both should've had a ban atleast though.

in that case i thought he wouldnt have gotten a ban + it would've been endlessly pounded by his pr team in the media (there's hardly anything on it out there and all just repeating claims from fury's side) + wada wouldve issued some sort of statement and reporters wouldve been all over it
he himself said the positive was from uncastrated boar, not that he wasnt actually positive and that it was some testing error. a b-sample is just him pissing into another cup

How about the ones who we know are juicing but never failed a test? I used to be a big Manny fan, until reality took over, and his terror of needles surfaced.

I mean. It's cheating. That's about as similar as they are. You're in all likelihood not going to kill anybody due to PED's. I mean....Pacquiao never killed any opponent and he was juiced like a motherf*cker.GreenLightning wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 09:13handsofstone wrote: ↑01 Dec 2022, 15:36Exactly and they should allowed plaster of Paris in their wraps as well and a hammer if they fall more than 3 rounds behind
That's a good point actually, is PEDs that much different than loading your gloves??
How many guys have died as a result of fighting Canelo?
How many guys have died or suffered permanent injury due to fighting Jarrell Miller?
None of those 3 guys killed an opponent.
But you got Jesus Chavez. Who wasn't on anything. He killed Leavander Johnson.
I mean...maybe the PED's don't really affect things as much as you think? Maybe if Chavez had been on PED's he would've actually had the power to knock out Leavander Johnson early instead of beating him into mush for 10 rounds.
Maybe if Johnson was on PED's he would've been strong enough to endure Chavez's attack.
Or maybe they simply would've made no difference whatsoever, and what's gonna happen when 2 guys fight is gonna happen regardless of what they're on.
My point is. Why are they so bad? Because people told you they are? Because the Evidence ain't really there to make them the horrible thing that people seem to want 'em to be sometimes.

Ah I see it's better to cheat with PEDs because you're more likely to knock a guy out cold than to give him a prolonged beating
Maybe Billy Collins Jr's beating wouldn't have been so prolonged had somebody supplied his opponent with loaded wraps, oh wait
Collins Jr didn't die in the ring either, but the cheating ruined his life and killed him regardless

Speaking of Billy Collins Jr and one of the participants in his manslaughter, Panama scumbag bastard Lewis
Since OEDs are fine, it must have been ok for him to give inhaler powdered water to his fighters between rounds too... How is that different or a worse firm of cheating than PEDs??
If it isn't then it's ok??

Well damn. That's a good point you made for yourself even though I didn't say that
My point is that. I don't think it's any more or less dangerous to be on PED's than it is to NOT be on them.
And if it is. Frankly I don't give a sh*t.
Boxers Fight. Fighting is Dangerous. Boxing is therefore Dangerous, and no matter how safe you want it to be. It always will be, and if it ain't. Then it's pointless.
Boxers understand the risk they take when they step into this sport. You might get seriously beaten up or badly injured if you become a Boxer.
You might get shot to death in the street if you become a Gang Member. You might die in a Fire if you become a Firemen. You might die in a car crash if you become a Stockcar Racer. You might fall off a scaffold and break your neck if you become a Construction worker.
Everything in Life has risk. Choose your path and walk it the best you know how.

I never said that at all. I'm saying guys definitely HAVE got injured without PED's involved, and I can't readily off the top of my head think of any specific examples of a guy getting hurt where he WAS on something.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 14:02 You say no one ever got seriously hurt because of PEDS, officially at least, but the Benn McClellan fight was highly suspicious
Chances are injury is equally as possible regardless is what I'm thinking.
Re: Can You Forgive One Of Your Favourite Boxers Failing a PED Test? Please Explain Your Reasoning.
McClellan is the most to be blamed for it. He was thinking too much of himelf, he had an awful preparation, he had an awful team, where nobody had enough knowledge how to protect a fighter, he travelled without giving much f*ck about time zones, all that stuff made him physically unprepared.MightyWarrior wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 14:02 You say no one ever got seriously hurt because of PEDS, officially at least, but the Benn McClellan fight was highly suspicious

Which is why CHEATING IS BAD IN AN ALREADY DANGEROUS SPORT
You should have just left it at "I don't give a shit" instead of trying to hold water for cheating because it's already dangerous anyway

A very philosophical way to dress up cheating in a potentially fatal sport

You implied it by saying PEDs are a lesser form of cheating than loaded gloves, you said PEDs are ok
So what level of cheating is taking inhaler powder between rounds?? Why is that different?? Genuine question

Well Inhaler Powder in between rounds is the kinda cheating you can't get away with because everyone can see clearly that you're doing it. So that's the kinda cheating it is.GreenLightning wrote: ↑02 Dec 2022, 14:14You implied it by saying PEDs are a lesser form of cheating than loaded gloves, you said PEDs are ok

Since it's a visual form of cheating. I suppose you could compare it to say a Low Blow.
