Bermane is 44 years old. Time to hang them up. I hope he saved some of his winnings. He was one of my favourite fighters back in the day. He disintegrated as a contender when he lost that decision to Wilder. He should've won.
Are you saying Stiverne won the first fight in your opinion??
I thought the fight was far from close. I had it 118-110 wilder clearly beat him

Stiverne clearly lost to Wilder. Moreover, he was outboxed by Wilder. Yes, outboxed by Wilder FFS. Maybe he just felt the power early, when he was stunned. Anyway, his fights agaist Arreola were fun. Stiverne had some skill, his had were fast and he could bang with nice counters. Although, his championship opportunity was lucky. If he faced Vitali, he obviously would have been pounded.

The long arm of Don King manages to scrape the last dregs from his boxing barrel

May he hurry up and screw these guys out of their purses and piss off to a retirement home
I know, right!
A former hyped, over ranked, and old fighter vs. a tier 3 Eastern European fighter who is short, fat, and limited. He can't even punch. King and boxing are really hurting for some action.
former heavyweight champion, if only for a minute & i don't recall stiverne getting hyped by anybody? also thought guidry is a fisherman from down in louisiana?
Yes. Guidry works for Bubba - Gump Shrimp company with Lieutenant Dan' s as the first mate. The fisherman is tough man that will give the former much older and hyped champion all he can handle. I'm picking Guidry to win!

Guidry won. The scores were 100-91, 97-93 and 100-91.
Here’s the recap:
The fight with Stiverne had little action, but Guidry put in more work in a bout where neither boxer seemed to be in serious trouble during the course of the action. Stiverne was simply not active enough and never let his hands go during the fight. At times he was right in front of Guidry and was backing him up, but he didn't throw many punches while doing so.
We missed an right barnburner

shite. missed it. must've been quite the explosive heavyweight attraction.
stiverne won't be champ again. damn!
guidry is now the main man in king's hw stable. can the fisherman from louisiana make old don's dream come true to rule the heavyweight game once again?

Stiverne has one win since winning the vacant WBC belt in 2014, which was Rossy in 2015. His opponents are decreasing in quality but three consecutive KO losses followed by a decision loss to a nobody in Guidry. Why is he still boxing?

Didn't watch it myself but the scorecards had it 1 or 2 rounds between them.

What fighters does Don King still have under promotional contract at this point? I assume Guidry (and perhaps Stiverne), but it's unclear if any of the undercard fighters from this card are actually DKP fighters. Definitely a far cry from the days where even his mediocre PPVs were pretty solid cards.

King also has cruisers Makabu and Noel Gevor.

Never assume that Stiverne won't be a champion again.
Somewhere out there, there is a cereal packet with a WBA world heavyweight championship trinket in it, just waiting to be wrapped around Stiverne's waist, mark my works.
