Some people don’t have the £100 spare in one go.
Why would anyone ever pay £100 in advance to an incredibly niche online-only streaming service that might not even survive the year and has gone full months without any new content? Honestly mind-boggling.
For the same reason I’d have done the same if it worked out cheaper to pay in advance for allegedly in the early years.

I don’t see it folding inside of 12 months and I’m pretty sure I’ll get value for the £100.
BNation didn’t have PPV. It was streets ahead of DAZN in every conceivable way.

It had more boxing on there and for a die hard boxing fan like me it was amazing value as I watched everything from the Russian stuff to the York Hall shows to the bulk of the US shows. Their U.K. output though wasn’t particularly great bar the odd big fight/show.

If DAZN UK start putting every big fight on PPV then I just won’t renew it. There’s nothing on PPV confirmed at the moment so I’ll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

Paying up front for the year is still dearer than the current monthly cost x 12….

I’m not averse to forking out $$ for Sky and bt and most ppv shows and I’ve been happy to stick with DAZN for £2 or £8 a month but this is the straw that breaks the camel’s back for me. I’m not gonna give Eddie £100 upfront so he can artificially inflate Shannon Courtney or Ebony Bridges purses and foist more of that rubbish on me.

This clearly marks the beginning of the end for DAZN, it’ll last as long as AJ stays relevant and then it’ll fizzle out.

And that will probably throw a PPV in later on in the year too.

They’ve had record profits since Eddie has been dealing with the boxing.

When Barry was last leading it they were lucky to sell out a leisure centre. He was just going through the motions in his last few years doing it.

So let me get this straight. If I pay annually, the price has gone up by £3.97 per year?

If I want to keep the same T&C’s how much is it a year?

Virtually no-one will pay annually though, with good reason. They’ve already proven they lied about having no PPV, so why would anyone ever sign up for a full year and trust they won’t just do it again?

So for most people who want to pick and choose their months (quite rightly, considering there have been months with absolutely zero new content), the price has doubled.

I have no idea. I don't read the T&C's. I pay and they let me watch the channel. They are the only T&C's I care about.

I pay for Prime yearly and I will pay for this yearly. I love watching boxing and they show boxing. Matchroom and Golden Boy do some great shows. Annually it's twenty seven pence per day. Weekly, it's more for a sandwich from Greggs. What is the big deal?

No big deal, I haven’t subscribed out of principle since they completely backtracked on PPV anyway. Just find it amazing that people defend companies offering poor value for money whilst simultaneously hiking up their prices.

Might as well have put Joshua on PPV and kept the present pricing system unless the Joshua undercard is going to be so poor that they couldn't do that

Amazon Prime is a great comparison though. The fact that DAZN now costs more than double the price of Prime on a monthly basis just shows what poor value it is.

Yeah - that’s kind of how i’m looking at it.

I got up at 6am on Sunday and watched near 4 hours of the Serrano/Cruz show. I’ll be watching the Wood/Lara fight live on it next weekend too and probably each of the shows they announced yesterday.

I don’t know how many hours of DAZN I watched last year but if I did then it’d work out pretty cheaply on a cost per hour of viewing which is the only fair way to assess some of the apps that just offer watchable content.

Why not double it again then. Then it's only 54 pence per day. You can't even get a chocolate bar for that cost!

I think the point is that it's absolutely fine for people who watch shows live or almost immediately afterwards.

For the majority who are more interested in a 7pm-11.30pm timeslot of UK boxing, £19.99 per month unless you want to be locked in is fairly expensive.........

And the interesting thing is that this is probably about locking in KSI and AJ fans for 9.99 per month to try and turn a profit, whilst cost cutting on the rest of the shows.

You can only determine value to someone based on how much of something they use or watch.

I pay for Netflix and watched something on Saturday on it. The last thing I’d watched on it previously was near 3 months ago. So I’m not going to renew next month. I could fully understand people cancelling DAZN in January when there was just one Golden Boy show on there for boxing.

Do you have any data to support these claims?
