From early indications, it all points towards Whyte (who appears to have started the expected verbals early) which is a tad bit disappointing. Who wants to see a rematch against an opponent previously beaten with relative ease, who also now appears to be shot? :maybe:
Or hold on.....might as well get the trilogy set up while they're at it!

That could be as great as Fury-Chisora. We can only hope.

I think it’d be good for all involved to get him out again quickly. I think AJ, as with many boxers, has suffered due to inactivity in the last few years so I can see him out July/August.

It was clear on Saturday that he’d be well beat by Fury and probably Wilder at the moment so a fight against someone like Whyte would make sense.

Oh I agree with that Mav. Its just do we actually believe that he will be walking into a ring in July with only a 3 month gap for the first time in 7 years?

Who knows. I had my doubts that he’d be out in December due to not having a formal trainer, taking a bad loss against Usyk and then the post fight meltdown. This time I’m more optimistic. Have a few weeks off and then back to camp.

I can’t see start of July/12 weeks but I could see end of July/August at some point to then hopefully set him up for a big one in the Winter.

I think that's very sensible.

But they (Matchroom and particularly DAZN) need a fight to sell and make money, and who knows where Joshua's head will be at in the next few weeks.

I'd like to see him in a really good test where he's the favourite.

The risk taking on Whyte, is that if it's a boring 12 round win, it further diminishes his star power, as Whyte has already beenj absolutely flattened by Fury.

It should be Joe Joyce. Very credible win for AJ and rebuilds the brand.

The other option is to fight in America against Ruiz or Miller.

No interest in the Whyte fight, he's already lost conclusively to Joshua and looks finished at the top level to me. Whyte himself is talking of wanting a warm up and has been mentioning Chisora. Leave him to it, he had his big chance against Fury and was terrible.

I’ve taken pity on Joshua and voted for Whyte. Wilder is a terrible fight for him at this stage. Career ending. Naturally, his team will be thinking the same thing as me. Get him through Dillian, develop a winning mindset where he feels somewhat comfortable again, and then go for one of the big dogs.

Everybody in the top 5 beats him right now.

On the Franklin performance, AJ would get stopped by:

Joyce
Dubois
Wilder
Fury

So to keep the hopes up of AJs fans it would need to be Whyte. If AJ performed terribly against him, then someone needs to tell him to quit.

Another fighter who has performed terribly and is in no one’s calculations is Filip Hrgovic … I am convinced he could cause a shock … although I base my hopes on the Haye sparring sessions, he hadnt grown into an adult. So yes my argument is flawed.

AJ wants the big fights? Ok.

Usyk -not atm. That ship has sailed for the time being.

So. Fury or Wilder then.

Otherwise it’s a waste of time. He don’t need the money.

Thinking that Fast Eddie will try to milk every drop of spondulicks outta his cash cow though.

So it’ll be Dillion or Del Boy then.

Who would have thought Mr W*rren having the upper hand again in British boxing, because he will have if his heavyweight’s keep on progressing.

Like I keep saying though Tyson Fury will retire

Tyson Fury doesnt come across as someone who would retire while on top. he will probably be around till he loses a few in a row. so probably nearer to 40.

Yep never happening that, they would only do it for crazy money which it wouldn't be.

I think Dubois is an easy nights work for AJ, the others all win though.

It's sink or swim time for Joshua now. Stick him in with Wilder. It would be a decent fight. If he wins, great, if he loses then he goes out with a bang.

I'm sick to death of both Whyte and Chisora. It's like fornicating groundhog day everytime I see them linked with another big fight.

Eddie Hearn Says Dillian Whyte Now Frontrunner For Joshua

Eddie Hearn says Whyte is the frontrunner (shock horror). I don't think it's a bad fight, if Joshua still has that killer mentality still in him, the man most likely to bring it out is Whyte. They hate each other and Whyte will, at some point in the fight, stick it on him.

Going into Fury now would be bad business, he most likely gets beat convincingly and the 'rebirth' of Joshua is over. But get a big fight in against Whyte first (probably a small stadium) then a big fight against either Wilder or Fury.

Maybe not if AJ commits to his shots. He’s bringing them back to his chin faster than he’s throwing them out at the moment.

Too right Mick :TU:
But surely already decking the guy, and seeing how fragile Whyte is now, must give him the confidence to blast him out with uppercuts.
