Not ko shots but when I think of first jabs that sent the opponents head snapping back I think Haye vs Bonin and I’m sure the first jab Breidis Prescott landed on Amir Khan had him and everyone else associated with Khan thinking ‘oh sh1t.’

That guy got on the scales and clearly hadn’t trained and was clearly tiny at the weight. I stuck £100 each on round 1 and round 2 at something like 30/1 each and Khan blasted him in a minute.

If you watch a lot of early Bruno fights, he looks significantly slimmer than later on, but it’s also noticeable how much smaller heavyweights were then… Bruno looks enormous and muscular next to his early opponents, even in his ‘slimmer’ days .

Yeah, guys at 240 were the big boys then and few and far between.

Bowe was a giant compared to most around then.

jack jjohnson was a giant in his day..............at 6 feet 190 pounds. for perspective that's the same height/weight of joe smith on fight night

5'10 185 pound marciano often wasnt much smaller than his opponents

big foreman was a total specimen in his day.............at a paris fury sized 6'3 220

dudes certainly gotten bigger, though perhaps at a cost. conditioning has gone downhill in general, and a lot of the fights are more lazy and filled with single shots. it's become increaasingly rare to find a hw who can box and move and put some combos together at a consistently decent clip for 12, fury and usyk can do it but not many others
