Let us all reflect on Dave Morreti giving Haney the 10th round, and how outrages that was yet still the reality that we (as fans) cannot do anything about it, nor will the various boxing authorities do anything about it.
Same judge that gave rd2 of Tank-Davis a 10-10.

I watched this offline. My impression was that nearly every round was hard to score. I thought Haney generally landed better shots, but also that he looked more vulnerable, usually when it was in closer range.
What do you mean Offline?

No way it's a close fight, like Golovkin vs Canelo 2, it's a classic robbery.

Everything is labelled a robbery now days.
I can't recall a robbery of this magnitude in ages

It's one thing for the casuals to band around the word robbery every time a close fight goes the other way but the hardcore's should know better, I had Loma ahead 115-113 but knew it was a coin toss

Haha, yeah, maybe you’re right mate (smart area

) and without sitting down like some arseclown wanker with a pen and paper and watching the fight to score it (before, of course, spending time with the other judges to understand if they score for effective aggression or count punches) I cannot know that the judge that didn’t give the tenth to Loma was biased, on the take or merely wrong.
Soz, I’ll return to not posting. Cheers.

Close fight, the wide card ruins it.
I think maybe some on here wanted Haney to lose after his weigh in performance?
Everything is labelled a robbery now days.
Was close 114-114 or a 115-113 each way would have been ok.
A split decision or majority even.. the fact it was unanimous. That’s a shame.
You do realise that “unanimous” means that all three judges had the same decision, don’t you? Majority means two judges had it for the same fighter and one had it a draw and split decision means two judges had it for one opponent and the other judge had it for the opposing fighter. This is why there’s no bookies offering odds on split or majority decisions.

I think where people are upset is.. fair enough it was a close fight, but when 95% of people had Loma winning, the 3 judges that matter all had it for Haney.

A closely contested fight can't be a robbery either way. Stop it.

Let them go at it again. Only fanbois call robbery after such a close fight.

Lomachenko pushed the action, worked and scored more, landed the hardest shots. Lol at 'close fight' comments.

No close fight is a robbery in my eyes. Emotions cause you to feel that way initially, but no robbery.
Zab Judah had a good point saying Loma fought more in spurts instead of controlling the whole fight, and it was close.

I agree a close fight. Not a robbery.
The rounds Loma won were dominant. The rounds Haney won were closer. But he won them.
I don't have a problem with the decision though I thought Loma edged it

It was a robbery. I saw a clear Lomachenko win, 116-112, over the much bigger man.
Haney's body punches were not as clean and effective as the commentors were telling us, because Loma was still very energetic in the late rounds, especially rounds 10 and 11.

This was a close fight to me, had Loma winning 115-113. I could see up 116-112, a draw, or even if one judge saw Haney winning 115-113, preferring his work more. I definitely don't see 116-112 Haney, and can't see anybody having Loma up by more than that scorecard.
With that said, it's the same old song and dance The promoted fighter ends up taking a decision he didn't earn. Haney is a decade younger than Loma and Top rank can make a lot more money off from him long term. One of my biggest issues is that not one judge thought Loma won? I mean come on already boxing with this nonsense. If this fight was a split draw, I'd still be unhappy, but could accept the outcome more.
A robbery to me, is when a fighter wins in a fight he clearly lost by multiple rounds. While I do think Haney lost, I also could see the fight being a draw or MD/SD decision for Loma. Holyfield/Lewis 1, Burton/Augustus 1, Bradley/Pac 1, etc where better labeled as a robbery. People tend to use that word too much today in the sport.
Haney will probably go up to 140. scattering all these belts. I think Loma should go to 130 where the path for him to be a unified champ would be easier. The weight fits him better and fighters should want to go to him to make the biggest fight possible within that division.

Indeed it was a very close fight and Loma did a great job at closing the distance, use angles, speed and combos.
Haney was landing good shots too.
It was a great effort for a small fighter like Loma - which shows us how great and skillful he is to fight a younger bigger fighter like Haney.
This fight scoring cards shows to us how great Bivol did against Canelo to get that victory. I mean Bivol literally whooped Canelo in Vegas and this fight had the same judges as Loma-Haney had.

I thought it was close...But with Loma winning.
Bad decision. Obviously seen many, many worse - but we shouldn't let the fact that worse decisions being made makes this one any better. It doesn't. Scoring is a huge issue that boxing never gets right.

There should be some nuance between something that’s probably a wrong decision and something that’s a ROBBERY….I think Loma won…but it was definitely close…like the last few posts, I think robbery is just a little strong.

Robbery is too strong a word but I understand the passionate reaction. Saying that, a judge scoring rd 10 for Haney is a robbery of that rd.

I gave Haney the last round and had 114-114, but can see 115-113 for either fighter. No robbery.
