I doubt it. Taylor doesn't really have much of a track record of destroying people -- Ohara Davies is the only decent opponent that he's ever stopped, and he often wins his big fights by narrow decision. Teofimo has never been stopped, and he only lost once by narrow decision. If Taylor beats Teofimo at all, it will probably be by narrow decision.
i can't see taylor 'destroying' or knocking out lopez either. i think it will be a pretty close hopefully very good fight.
i actually favor lopez to pull off what would be considered an upset if u look at all the overwhelmingly one sided expert opinions, none of em' giving lopez much of a chance.
well. wasn't that close of a fight.
except for the 'judges'.
what fight did they watch? lopez needed to win that last round to avoid a majority DRAW!! FFS!! HOW?
again, it's either total incompetence or absolute corruption.

I like Teo. I'm a fan. He is brash but he is mostly honest. He's got the gift of gab. But at this very moment he is no wear close to being nearby or in the vicinity of a mind state where he can get in the ring with Josh Taylor. He has too many personal issues going on and "fighting" is far from his primary goal or motivation. I would say he is being sacrificed to Tartan Tornado! Taylor on the other hand has had a rebirth since splitting with Ben Davidson. He is super-focused and back to fighting with that Rob Roy/Braveheart spite and spittle. The only benefit to Teo in this matchup is he gets a great payday! Believe it will be brutal!!

Teo played us a for fools.
He was more focused than JT was.
All the tak before the fight, so many were saying to pull Teo out with the way he taking. Not being there mentally… but once he got in there, he was his old self.
That’s the Teo Lopez many like to see.

God those Lopezes are one the most unpleasant folks in sports today... But yeah, Teo clearly won, I had it 117-111. I didn't watch the Sandor Martin fight but I understood the concensus was that Martin got robbed, was that the case? Anyhow, Teofimo Lopez is great and I hate to admit it.

I'm glad Kambo beat him though

Teo-Martin was closer than the Taylor fight. I had Teo edging it though. As for Saturdays fight Taylor claimed that he had no legs after the 4th round. I think the weight cut is taking too much out of him. He needs to move up to 147 but without the focus and intensity he displayed on his way to undisputed 140 champ he won't do much at 147. Once again I take my hat off to Teo. I never doubted his skill but I thought he was lost mentally. Congrats!

By the way, what is Teo going through since I heard before Saturday so many saying he'll lose due to his mental struggles or whatever? In the post fight interview he said something about a battle for his kid or something.

Nothing personal, but I don't know how many times I had to read about Teo's "state of mind".
Way too many people are acting like they are some top rated psychologist. Some people also think they can read a boxers mind by their posture or the aura he is omitting
To be fair, Teo didn't look good at all in his 2 fights prior to facing Taylor. Between his strategy and preparation, he just wasn't performing great in the ring. He admittedly wasn't well mentally, so it was only natural for everyone to believe he was still struggling.
I personally seen it as a 50/50 based on Teo not showing his best performances his 2 fights prior. I felt if Teo was focused and back to form, he was a level above Taylor. I always viewed Taylor as a bit of a over achiever and not really among the very elite of the sport, I feel the same about pretty much all the top guys at 140 at the moment. I think Teo beats Prograis or Ramirez just as easily as he beat Taylor if he's as dedicated as he was for the Taylor fight.

It is even more ridiculous when the armchair psychologists offer their findings after the event. Like after Joshua got stopped by Ruiz.

Divorce and a legal battle for the child is plenty mentally distracting.

Well, at least one judge saw it like it was.
In any case there's no doubt that Taylor, the defending champion, demonstrated a great chin and tremendous stamina.
Unfortunately for him, as Taylor seemed to accept afterwards, psychological issues or not, Teofimo Lopez was just too good for him.
Anyway it will be interesting to see whether Lopez's handlers can use his out of ring frustrations as a means of motivation rather than distraction for him in future.
A fully focused Teofimo Lopez would have destroyed Taylor.
