Umar is probably my least favourite out of the guys on IFL. He goes real easy on Frank.

Tebbut is one of the better ones. Boxing King Media is one of the best for asking some of the tough questions.

I think Umar goes very easy on Frank because he’s the only IFL guy he’ll talk to. I think he refuses to talk to Kugan. Francis the kind of guy who would refuse to talk to or allow a channel at ringside if they annoyed him.

Anyway everyone knows IFL was partially funded by Hearn in the early days and is basically matchroom’s PR arm

Wasn't it believed MTK were behind them a few years ago? I think Kugan is even on the US banned list.

I doubt anyone has been behind them in recent years other than Kugan. They would have had a steady income from the MTK ads as they were throwing money around but I doubt they were controlling things at IFL.

Similar with Eddie. I’d imagine he’d have covered Kugan’s expenses at many a show but I doubt he was on the Matchroom payroll.

As soon as the the 'bedroom websites' as we used to call them,started popping up boxing journalism has become a joke. Then any Tom,Dick and Harry started turning up with a microphone on YouTube,and the circus began. Boxing journalism quickly became a joke when the ringmaster allowed a very inexperienced IFL to follow him around to enhance his profile. Just my opinion. There were some good guys in the media,solid boxing people who really cared about the sport and the boxers but when these people s
got involved it just got silly. The old school journo knew how to play the game,knew You had to give a bit. Inturn promoters respected that as well. The other reason boxing has become a joke imo in UK, was when Simon Block left the board. Those two things I believe was the start of why we are where we are now. It's just a free for all now. I never met Ben Shalom so I could be doing him a huge disservice but how on earth can you allow someone with zero boxing experience become a promoter,and then hand him the reigns to Sky Sports boxing?
