High risk? Why, because Eddie Hearn said? Fury absolutely toyed with Whyte. Made him look 3rd rate and at this stage he probably is.
Heck , why not make AJ vs Washington next? wouldnt dislike that one right!![]()
Most seem to think it will be Washington who steps in. Absolute joke if it is. Washington is 41 years old and hasn't won a fight in over 4 years!
If anyone even considers parting with money to watch AJ-Washington you are part of the reason boxing is in such a sh1t state.
Next for Deontay Wilder ?

Re: Next for Deontay Wilder ?
There' appears to be a bit of a staring competition going on between Wilder and Joshua's camps at the moment.
Will Wilder even fight before meeting Joshua next year? He seems to want a fight in October but Hearn saying that would 'concern him' as he would rather see Wilder fight in September. I seriously doubt that worries Wilder.
Hearn says he has met with the Saudis a number of times, including twice over in Saudi Arabia, and is now putting a 2 to 3 week timeframe on wrapping the Wilder fight up. Otherwise he will 'look at a November/December fight for Joshua'.

?? Bro. It's f*cking Tyson Fury! He schooled Wilder! He schooled Klitschko! You're out of your mind if you think that losing to the best fighter in the division is evidence of how weak a contender is. Do you think Stephen Fulton is shot just because Naoya Inoue stopped him in 8? Is Errol Spence trash just because Terrence Crawford stopped him in 9? Is Daniel Dubois shot because Joe Joyce stopped him? Is every fighter in the whole sport shot?Redback Rasta wrote: ↑17 Aug 2023, 18:43 That first Joshua-Whyte fight was in 2015. That's 8 years ago and we have seen how 'dangerous' Whyte is in his recent fights. His decline has been dramatic. Best emphasized by Fury, who absolutely schooled him.

Whyte's performance against Fury - or lack of it - is only part of what I base his decline on, but it is the most dramatic part. He has been very ordinary for years now.Lackeos wrote: ↑18 Aug 2023, 03:51?? Bro. It's f*cking Tyson Fury! He schooled Wilder! He schooled Klitschko! Let's hope so. Joshua v Wilder would be a great way to start the new boxing year.
A lot depends upon just what the WBC cancelling the Wilder v Ruiz matchup really means.
Does it mean paving the road clear to a Joshua v Wilder fight, which would be a great way to start the new boxing year?
Or does it mean they're simply continuing to bend over backwards to please Tyson Fury by allowing him to hold their belt whilst still hand picking soft targets?
2024 will be 2 years without facing a mandatory.

Sulaimán. made a statement a while back to the effect of 'WBC champion Fury has repeatedly attempted to make fights but couldn't' and that it was on that basis that the WBC was giving Fury the green light to fight Ngannou.Thomastearns wrote: ↑19 Aug 2023, 17:28Redback Rasta wrote: ↑18 Aug 2023, 02:21 There' appears to be a bit of a staring competition going on between Wilder and Joshua's camps at the moment.

The combination of Wilder and Ruiz's reluctance to get in the ring and resolve the mandatory position and the flickering vision of the mirage in the Saudi Arabian desert, are major contributors to where things sit.

Their rematch is probably going to feature as one of Wilder's testimonial fights.
Last time I heard Charlie wasn't doing so well, so perhaps the money could prove useful.
If Wilder doesn't fight Joshua, especially after pulling out of the Ruiz fight, then he's joining his pal Fury as a sham HW.
Fingers crossed that the Saudi money is just too big to refuse for Deontay.
It's got to be biggest payday left to him.
Just sign it.

One of the worst title fights of recent times. A distracted Klitschko against a juiced up lightning fast Fury in 12 rounds of contact free boxing.
And let's not forget the lengths Fury went to in avoiding their contracted rematch.
Or the fact that Klitschko was unaware of Fury's failed tests.

Fury landed just 86 of 371 punches he threw, meaning his connect percentage for the 12-round fight was 23%. Klitschko's ratio was just as low. He only landed 52 of 231 shots

Wilder says his next 2 fights will be against Joshua :
“Everybody know about the Joshua situation. That is serious. That’s real. That is one that’s up next. We’re looking forward to that, I’ll be getting in camp real soon. I’ll be promoting it within the next few months or so. Finally get that showdown on.
I think it’s gonna be a great, great fight between me and him. I’m actually working on a 2 fight deal with me and Joshua, one up in Saudi Arabia and the other one up in the Motherland, Africa.”

Which was do almost nothing against a 39-year-old fighter at the end of his career.adislav123 wrote: ↑24 Aug 2023, 13:38 sure a shit fight to watch, but fury flawlessly executed a perfect gameplan and did everything he had to do to dethrone klit who was the heavyweight ruler of an whole frikkin era.
Wlad never won another fight.
Flawlessly executing nothing..........what a grand achievement.
Career defining moment there.

Re: Next for Deontay Wilder ?
I wasn't sure after watching it if Fury won that fight or if Wladimir lost it. I told my friend who is a casual fan to go ahead and watch Wlad vs Joshua but not that fight. I would rather watch all of his fights with Wilder than to watch that fight again.
