Incredible action from the opening bell, both aggressive southpaws digging their heels into the canvas and really putting everything into the shots, Santillan just looked that bit better and stronger, outworking Rocha as well, knew a minor upset might be on the cards, Rocha brave and had success as well but had a torrid 5th round, down twice, first KD Santillan nailed him with an uppercut then hooked him over, Rocha didn't look like he had much appetite for getting back up but he did and fought hard to his credit, Santillan had him down again though about 7/8 right hooks send him over, his face was a bloody mess, the end came early in the 6th, combinations punching from Santillan had Rocha down for the last time, all left uppercuts and right hooks, excellent fight especially after just watching Chamberlain/Lawal

rocha was a 7-1 fave, crazy odds. who is the best guy he beat?

I’ve never seen either of them box before so I’m speaking from a position of total ignorance but just to play devil’s advocate wasn’t Santllan suspiciously heavy handed there for a guy with a moderate KO record ?

Hasn’t fought for over a year yet totally dominated a highly touted prospect hurting him with heavy shots from the first round

santy was a hot prospect himself at one point, signed to top rank. and never lost. he had scored some brutal kos before (See the sammy valentine fight) and rocha was pretty overrated tbh.
