I only caught the last 4 rounds myself.

I think Azim won every round though.

Talking the talk, walking the walk

Dominant win for Azim, apart from the point off in the 9th for low blows it was one way traffic, basic for the first few rounds, jabs and right hands, Petitjean did make Azim miss with most but he was being outworked comfortably, Azim dropped him with a nice left to the body in the 5th, after that he started mixing it up with the bodyshots and hooks, he kept Petitjean on the back foot all night, Petitjean was a tricky southpaw if nothing else, still thought might go all the way, Azim finding the breakthrough in the 10th, a couple of uppercuts putting Petitjean down, nose like a busted tap, good call to wave it off, Azim never set the heather alight but a dominant win, TKO and a European title at 21, can't be bad

Delighted for Denny, Signani is retired on his stool after 7 rounds, he was cut above the eye bad and I doubt it would've made 12 but still strange to see his corner make the call, it was caused by a headclash in the 6th and would've went to cards if the ref halted it, plus Signani hurt Denny in the 5th and had him on the retreat, he done well to avoid the onslaught though, good defensive skills, bobbing and weaving out of the punches, Denny boxed well though, moved jabbed, landed the left hand and was out boxing Signani, I had him a few rounds up at the end

franck a bit of a tailor made, cherry pick champ, but none the less a good win for azim at this stage. getting in rounds is much better for his development than those early blowouts he was having. he's been moved well so far

Yeah - it’s frustrating and these are the kind of fights that shouldn’t be ok’d by Sky.

An obviously one sided fight against an opponent who had little notice.

Been off since January (though we could certainly have a debate about the extent to which that's his/Boxxer's fault) and if the CBS fight won't be until April/May needed to get a bit of ring rust off.

Poor opponent but it did make sense imo. He is guaranteed a WBO shot so no need to fight anyone who's going to give him any issues + an opponent who would is likely to be more expensive.

I like the way Azim is being developed. He has a very high ceiling as a fighter.

Certain other promoters would be feeding him bin men and cans for about 4 years, it’s good he’s actually fighting some competitive opposition.

A lot of these guys are just happy beating up no name guys and bigging themselves up rather than stepping up and taking the opportunity. Didn't he turn down Opetaia?

Correct. Whether it was actually him I ain’t so sure tho. More likely his team who don’t want to lose any purse bids.

Agree it wasn't even a contest, poor opponent, although if we're being completely fair he did go the distance with Chamberlain recently on not much more notice and CBS a while back (albeit probably on far more notice).

I guess we just have to be practical and accept that yes it's a terrible fight but UK shows are pretty thin talent-wise anyway, fighters sometimes need run-outs and the big boys won't ever be off TV. Riakporhe's probably the most accomplished fighter they've had on Sky for ages anyway.

Chris male 12 -2. Won a masters title against an unbeaten lad. Then lost to warrington for English title on points.

Surprised by all of the experts singing his praise.

I know he's young, but his last few opponents look like they've been cherrypicked for their lack of punching power. He has literally never fought anyone with power, the closest being Rylan Charlton who was a short lightweight with stiff feet coming off a few brutal losses.

Watching him trying to blast out these low-risk opponents with his hands down just makes me think it is a KO loss waiting to happen if he fights in the states or if he is in with an actual live opponent.

Thanks for sharing, he had a good career, just checked it out, his only 2 losses were title fights. I tip my hat.
